    Slow Loser

I am in the same place. I really am trying to be more upbeat about this whole thing. Trying not to compare myself to others. But sometimes...
  2. I was 273@ surgery, and at 5'4", I am now 243/240...depending on what scale I want to believe! While I am excited about the 30lb weight loss, I thought it would be more (Oh, I was sleeved July 3rd). I have however, lost lots of inches, and given away LOTS of clothes. Like you, I have been experiencing a protracted stall. Even with consistent, strenuous exercise at a boot camp...these pounds are so stubborn! I actually think I am not eating enough, and I know my Protein intake is not up to par. Good luck to us all!

    The Scale Finally Moved! :d

Isn't amazing how good it feels when that damned scale finally moves again?!!
  5. Favorite: The weight loss, seeing my clothes get looser and looser! Least favorite: The stalls! Also, remembering to eat, and drink enough. Amazing.

    Grrrr Stupid Jeans

Interesting. I am losing weight (as per the scale) very slowly, BUT have lost lots of inches, and clothes...especially pants, are hanging off me. WTH?! So it seems like a case of "six of one, half dozen of the other"! ~mom~

    How Much You've Lost

I understand what you are saying, and I have said the same thing to others. Sometimes, the frustration takes hold, and the pity party begins. I am grateful fro the 30lbs, and the inches lost. But boy, it is so damn hard to come here and read how someone has lost 3x the weight you have in the same amount of time! Yes, I am happy for those who have dropped lost of pounds, and on their way to goal. It is inspiring. But am am flawed enough to admit to being a teensy bit jealous! I am starting a 2-week Protein diet (and one food meal) to hopefully get out of this one month stall. Congrats to all the losers!

    How Much You've Lost

How much have I lost???? NOT ENOUGH!!! In approximately 2.5 months, I have lost a whopping (sarcasm) 30lbs from my surgical weight. Yeah, I've lost a lot of inches, and getting rid of lots of too-big clothes. But what about the pounds???
  9. I add black decaf coffee for that mocha flavor. Makes the protein drink palatable

    What Food Do You Miss?

I used to eat Chinese food like it was my job! Since I was sleeved (7/3) I had a bit of broccoli with steamed chicken. It tasted good, but very filling. I haven't had any since.

    Walking

I was walking the neighborhood the night I came home from the hospital!
  13. It isn't unusual to experience hunger pangs. More than likely, the hunger will go away once you try to eat, and you realize, you can only choke down a few bites!

    Working Out

JUST DO IT! I know that sounds so cliche, but its true. I totally understand your apprehensions. Hold your head high, wear a great outfit, and just start. Maybe you can join a place and go midday when there are perhaps more women to make you feel better. (although, some of our sex are not so nice). People MIGHT turn their heads to check out the new girl, but after a while, no one will care. Especially the guys...they are too busy checking themselves out in the mirror to be concerned with you! Good luck!
  15. My husband has a crazy work and tennis schedule, so he doesn't have dinner home too often (thank god!) My "kids" are adults now The oldest is living on her own. The youngest lives home, and was sleeved a month before me. Soooo, what to fix for others is a non-issue. I like some of the suggestions LouiseC had!
  16. I was sleeved July 3rd, and I used to think the world was ending. The pain was THAT bad! It felt like every bite was stuck. I swore I would never eat or drink ever again. Thankfully, it passes. When? I am guessing it is different for everyone. In the meantime...Good luck!
  17. Most department stores have light control panties that should do the trick. Try a pair of several brands, see what works for you.

    What Food Do You Miss?

I haven't really missed anything in particular. I have thought about a few favorites, but the thought passes quickly, and I'm good. I used to LOVE Lays chips (original in yellow bag, thank you) and I suppose I could have a few chips, but it's not worth it to me. I mentioned on another thread that I don't really enjoy food, not even old favorites. I eat because I have to, not because I enjoy it.

Idk I'm Gonna Ever Enjoy Food Anymore

It has been 2.5 months since my surgery, and I couldn't care less about food. It is something I need, not look foward to. This fact doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I consider it GREAT collateral damage!
  20. Umm, during a c-section, they cut across your stomach muscles. OUCH. The sleeve was a much easier recovery. Luckily, both result in a lovely outcome.

    First Major Stall

Bingo! This is supposed to be the prime time for weight loss! Oy, vey...

    First Major Stall

I can sympathize with you, livinglifeout. I can honestly say I HAVE been resisting temptation: no 'white foods' (rice, potatoes, flour, or added sugars). I read labels and watch carbs and sugars. Also, I am in week 5 of a 10-week boot camp . I go 4 days a week instead of 6 because of work and other obligations. All that, and I'm only down 38 pounds since July 3, 2012!!!! While I have lost numerous inches, and gone down approx. 3 clothing sizes, I am stuck in terms of weight loss. Soooo, I have decided to do a 2-week liquid Protein diet( and a protein bar/atkins bar. I need to chew something). I just want to jump-start the weight loss again. Good luck to you!
  23. At the rate I'm losing with my current stall...I'm thinking I should revise my goal to inches lost, instead of weight!

    Whats On Your Bucket List?

    1. CLOTHES!!! I love nice things, and look foward to buying some beautiful things without hiking down to the basement in the PLUS section! 2. Have a huge party celebrating my new body. 3. Heels. High heels without killing my knees or my feet. 4. Crossing my legs. Comfortably. 5. Did I say CLOTHES??!!!
