We were sleeved on the same day! Alas, I have only lost half your amount....good for you! While I have not had any pains, used any pain meds, or had any complications...the weight loss is going slower than I thought. Looking foward to getting back in the gym.

75lbs in 4 months?! FABULOUS!!! I hope to have similar results. At the moment, things aren't looking too good, though. My problem is not eating enough...go figure! ok, so I am only 2 weeks out and have lost 13lbs since surgery. I guess I was hoping the weight would magically disappear! No, patience is NOT one of my better qualities! I MUST do a better job of eating required proteins and calories. I know you have toe "eat to lose", but its not that easy right now. I hit the treadmill daily, and look foward to rigorous workouts at the gym next month. In the meantime, I will live vicariously through the success of others on the board, and anticipate sharing my own 75lb loss! Again, congratulations!

100 Pounds In 6 Months!
dar1983 replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
chomping at the bit for those numbers! -
1. sleeved on July 3, 2012 2. Empire blue cross/shield 3. Pre-op experience: Other than some administrative frustrations (people not sure if my tests were in, and recorded, et...) I had a good experience. I was a little'pushy'....I had no intentions on waiting 6 months for surgery! 4. Post-op: great! I came through the surgery with flying colors, never filled my pain meds once home. The Bariatric Team at Mercy Hospital, was supportive both pre and post op. I am down 12 lbs so far, and trying to not to weigh myself every hour! LMAO!

What Do You Tell People About Ypur Weightloss?
dar1983 replied to dooter55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have told my close circle of girlfriends, 4 of my co-workers, and a few others. I'm not embarrassed, I just didn't choose to tell 'others'. I CAN'T WAIT til I get to the point where people start asking what I have done to lose weight! Depending on the person,I will either tell them about my surgery, or I will use the whole low carb, high protein thing. I've actually considered the FB approach to letting people know, but don't want to do the weekly updates, or have all my interactions be about the surgery. -

What Does This Surgery Do To Relationships?
dar1983 replied to Minckle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At the risk of sounding heartless...I think the surgery, and your sickness, are merely excuses for someone who was weak, and cheated on you! Anyone who can cheat when you are at your most vulnerable, is a low-life. Just don't let HIS weaknesses impact your weight loss, and care for your daughter. -

I have to tell you, my daughter did all the work in terms of finding us a good protein shake (we tested lots of them!) her surgery was June 6th, and so far, she has lost 40lbs! I am one week out, and have lost 11lbs. We have taken lots of "before" photos and look foward to those "after" photos. Even at 11lbs, this sleeve has been life-changing

Thought I Could Trust My Husband!
dar1983 replied to MGM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first told my husband about the surgery, he said" We don't have to tell ANYONE , only the 4 of us need to know (my 2 daughters). We'll do this together". HAHAAHAAAA! He tried to keep it shut, but men are such gossips! I think every one of his customers and family know EVERYTHING! ( I feel you on the in-law thing...) -
Beat Me, Beat Me, Ooh Yeah Right There
dar1983 replied to msvickee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doctor said that although ground beef is ok...it is dry when cooked, which adds to the misery. he suggested roasted chicken shredded with mayo for added moisture. Tomorrow's dinner! -

dar1983 replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beach season is short, after that, put on some spanx, and keep it moving! Hair loss: they make really good quality wigs these days, or consider hair extensions! Saggy butt: Victoria Secrets sells padded undies...check out a pair. Go shopping, and remember what it was like B.S. (before sleeve). -

How Soon Did You Try Guacamole, Salsa, Hot Cheetos, Doritos? Sorry I Just Had Surgery On Tuesday And Omg :o Im Addicted To All Of That.
dar1983 replied to Karen2012's topic in Food and Nutrition
At the risk of sounding like a food general and a know-it-all...Please, do NOT start eating junk food! You have invested much (financially, psychologically, physically) to let yourself believe that "a little is ok". Find a healthy substitute. I don't know you from Adam, but I would hate to see you backslide, all because of a handful of chips... -
62lbs...in three months??? CONGRATULATIONS!!! Mom is just jealous! Revel in your success!

What Do You Want To Do When You Are Healthier?
dar1983 replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I rarely wear pantyhose, but in the winter months I occasionally wear opaque tights with skirts, and it is hell in the morning trying not to fall out of the chair while trying to get the damn toe portion onto my foot!
