    Yippee!

I will try those tactics. Anything to get out of this stall.

    Bored With Food

I no longer enjoy food. I eat for nourishment, alone. I suppose I will have to do something to make sure I get in a sufficient number of calories and proteins. sigh...
  3. my ONLY regret is not having done this sooner!
  4. I had pretty easy time of it in the hospital. I only used the pain pump a few times after walking my laps. Once home, I never even had my pain meds filled at the pharmacy...never needed them! Other than 2 nasty bouts of indigestion, I haven't experienced any complications.

    Congrats!
  6. Tonight, I realized I don't even like to eat anymore. I had 3.5 oz of fish with crabmeat, and just couldn't get excited about it. It was a chore to eat! Eating is something I do for nourishment...not pleasure. I guess this is better than focusing on the next meal all the time. I went to the grocery store this afternoon, and all I bought was meat, cheese, fruit and crystal light! Wooo, Hoo!

    Life After Sleeve

While it is important to be aware, educated and informed about the surgery and all possible problems...don't let the anxiety cripple you. Just do what the doctor and nursing staff tells you, and you'll be good!

    I Was So "disappointed"

I think I am the only person who doesn't have a cache of smaller-sized clothing...I have been this size for approx. 25 years, and I am now 52! Oh, I have a few items that are a size or two smaller, but nothing for "down the road. Oh, well...happy shopping!

    Melon?

I am a month out, and I eat cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew. For awhile, it was the only thing I could really eat without pain. Like Sunny said, very refreshing on a hot summer day.
  12. Oh, my...good luck to you as you heal.

    Treated Different......

I am blessed to have a fabulous circle of girlfriends. They are my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. I am the only fat person in the group (actually, everyone I socialize with is thinner than me). We're all in our early-mid fifties, so the whole jealousy thing is a non-issue. As for the flirtatious looks/comments: who DOESN'T appreciate an admiring glance?!!

    Eating Is Miserable!

I was sleeved July 3, 20102, so I don't have all the answers. I am guessing that yes, you will be able to tolerate more foods. As for me, I eat because I have to. No meal excites, me, but I need the nourishment. How ironic that my biggest problem is not getting ENOUGH calories??!!

    I Was So "disappointed"

To comfortably cross my legs, without a numbing feeling, is a goal! Like you, I hit a stall. I tried on an old pair of TIGHT jeans, and THEY FIT! We are losing inches as well as weight, so don't get to discouraged about the numbers on the scale (who am I kidding? Sadly, I am a slave to my scale!).

Pet Peeve - Update Your Stats

SpecialK...nice weight loss so far. From the 1960, I'm assuming we're the same age. Better late than never!!!

    Surgery Tomorrow!

No need to panic...this is a good thing! Best of luck to all who are having surgery!
  18. I'm not really bothered by the grocery store, or "loss" of food at all. For me,other than a really juicy cheeseburger, and Lays Original chips, I don't miss eating the way I used to. We had a big party here last weekend, and there was a a bag of Lays left, hubby opened it, ate some, and surprisingly, it didn't bother me! That bag is still here, I look at it, but never thought to open it, and eat one....or the bag. Perhaps someone else can do the shopping for a while, until you feel emotionally stronger. I go to a smaller market, more a produce place,to buy fruit and meat. But, I have no small children, so it might be easier for me to NOT go to the grocery store. Hubby is home late most evenings,so I cook as little as possible!

Pet Peeve - Update Your Stats

I am always curious to see when people were sleeved when they are talking about weight loss. I guess I just wonder how long it took them to lose the weight.
  20. As it was already mentioned, everyone heals a a different pace. For me, the surgery was relatively pain-free...I didn't even bother getting my pain meds filled once at home. The worst part of the surgery (well, post-op) was the intense pain when trying to eat scrambled eggs. I was doubled over, had my husband "burp me", cried, everything. I learned that eggs are not MY friend! I was, however, tired for a week or two. In short, of the 5 surgeries I have had which involved cutting my stomach, this was the easiest. Good luck

    July Sleevers

I had surgery on July 3rd, and happy to report I had no complications, and very little pain at all. To date, I have lost 27lbs so far (10 pre-surgery). I feel as though I am stalling. I just started an intense fitness regimen, so hopefully, I will start to see more weight come off.

    Seltzer...anyone Else Love It?

Why would you consider it? Besides the obvious carbonation, there are like a million sugars in soda! Use this time to cut the soda addiction ( if that is the issue). I love icy cold Pepsi, but I love my sleeve more.

On An Out State Trip And Not Doing Well

You're in NYC...Spend a few bucks and find yourself some grilled chicken!!! Even if you eat on campus, I am surprised there is no chicken, tuna, or even a taco without all the fattening fillers!
