  1. I got to start my mushy foods today, had some scrambled eggs this morning and they were awesome. Not feeling too much restriction yet, but I have not had any fills yet. Trying not to overdo it. If I ever have to drink another Protein shake it will be too soon....lol!
  2. 2 weeks out today, So now I get to eat some real food. Mushy food....but real food. After a month of liquids I had scrambled eggs this morning and they tasted awesome.
  3. I'm 2 weeks out today from my surgery and though I am still sleeping a bit longer than usual. Its amazing how good I actually do feel.
  4. My doctor told me it will take at least 6 weeks to fully heal from the surgery, so give yourself som more time. I sleep a lot too.
  5. I just got my bill from the surgery.... $31,266.89. We shall see how much Medicare covers, I'm on disability. I almost fainted when I saw it...lol. Its only 3k less than what I bought my house for 20 years back.
  6. Ok curious.....Pork Rinds? Can anyone eat them without them getting stuck?
  7. I bought chewable Multivitamins, I bought the ones for kids because they had the same stuff in them and were $3 dollars cheaper than the 'adult' ones. So it looks like I have fun animal shapes for the next couple of months. How long do I have to keep grinding up my pills? Forever? I know Vitamin pills are big but what about asprin or other pain killers?
  8. A little humor...for my fellow bandsters.
  9. Cool...another high protein snack I can have. I will definitely chew, chew, chew. Hey...I'm Thomas the Train. LOL!
  10. I always was a fan of beef jerky or even slim jims before my banding, I know the sodium is too high. But can you eat either of these after? I'm sure the jerky is a no, but not sure about the old Slim Jim...color me addicted.
  11. I am doing real well, been 8 days since I was banded and I feel 90% normal. Still some twinges depending how I move, plus I still get that brick in my tummy feeling from time to time. But its going a lot better than I could have hoped. My kids and my best friends keep telling me I look like I'm losing weight, but its hard to tell being such a big guy.
  12. Yeah...I had that for the first couple of days. Trust me you will feel loads better a couple days from now. And sleep as much as your body tells you too, I slept like crazy and always felt better everytime I got up.
  13. I got a lot of nice literature for my lap-band diet from the Life Help Center in St. Anthony's Hospital here in St. Pete, FL. I looked to see if they had the infromation online so I could link it. But could not find it. If you give them a call they might mail you a diet guide, its has a lot of good meal plans in there.
  14. I start my pureed phase on Tuesday the 17th of July. Then I have to be on it for two weeks, then I get to switch to regular foods.

  19. I was banded 7 days ago, although I don't have gas pains, I do burp more frequently than I used to. Plus I still have this brick in my stomach feeling that won't go away.
