    Anyone?

I decided to try gluten free options after surgery and have been so pleasantly surprised! Now I am excited to find everything that is naturally gluten free! Any suggestions?
  2. How much have you lost already? Caffeine might not agree with your new stomach.
  3. I think it was low potassium.
  4. I chose this surgery so I would not fall off the wagon. Falling off for me wasn't just a meal or a day, it was a month and wasn't just a few pounds but 10-15. I was so tired of the yo-yo dieting and weight gain/weight loss. No matter what restrictive surgery you choose, you will still have to watch what you eat (more quality than quantity) and exercise.

    I need advice!

    Have you tried string cheese?

    I need advice!

I haven't tried the unflavored protein powder yet, but will be getting the Unjury brand. After researching, it appears to be one of the only kinds that does not clump and can be added to hot or cold liquids. After surgery I had the unflavored protein powder in raspberry crystal lite. It was so good! I know it sounds gross, but what about baby food meats??
  7. This was the first surgery I had in 22 years and the first surgery was not an option. As I prepared for surgery the day of, putting on the gown, getting the IV, etc., I was kind of freaked out. Thankfully my 17 year old son was with me. He really put my mind at ease. He wants to be a doctor so found all of it fascinating. Yes, I was nervous, but the surgery and recovery went really well. You'll do great. It is such a surreal feeling after jumping through all the insurance hoops for months to have it finally be over and get on with the rest of my life. Congratulations and looking forward to talking to you afterward. Best advice post surgery, walk as soon as you can get out of bed! It will speed up your recovery and help get rid of the gas pains.

Yeah collar bones! I found mine too. It's wonderful.

    I need advice!

Cottage cheese, cream soups, add the Unjury unflavored protein powder. Peanut butter powder is a great idea. Even though you can only eat small portions, instead of 6 small meals a day, increase to 8 or 10.

    Daughter Seeking Information

Never heard of "A lighter Me", but I had the sleeve procedure two weeks ago and do not regret it a bit. I was back at work half days two days after surgery and went back to the gym today. How much does your Mom have to lose?

    this.is.a.b*tch.!:(

Hang in there. You've waited this long. The insurance hoops we all have to jump through are ridiculous, but the surgery will be so worth it. Good luck.

    surgery 3 days ago

    Slowly.
  13. RAAinNH, did you already get approved for revision? We are going down that path with my daughter now and I am curious how easy it will be to get approved.

    Hairbrush Trick to Ease Indigestion?

    Point well taken. Thanks.

    Not quite on schedule.

First, CONGRATULATIONS. 100 pounds is life changing. Secondly, doctors have terrible bed-side manners. Please, please, please do not spend too much time pondering his words. You have done an outstanding job. Plus, 15 pounds compared to 100...drop in the bucket. Great job for contacting your accountability partner. And, consider switching doctors. :-)

    Hairbrush Trick to Ease Indigestion?

Here is the big question. Why would you even WANT to overfill yourself??? :-)
  17. I would not recommend the band to anyone. My daughter had the band put in a year ago and although she initially lost 60 pounds, she was not able to keep it off. She has other contributing issues, PCOS and a knee injury that prevents her from doing aerobic exercise. If you are looking for the least invasive restrictive surgery, I would suggest the sleeve.
  18. It sounds like a stricture. Let your doctor know and they can do a scope to see.

Pre-Op diet to lose 5-10 pds

That is weird. My surgeon said the 2 week liquid diet was to shrink the liver to allow easier access to the stomach. Good luck with the weight loss and am looking forward to hearing great things after your surgery. Best advice, get up and walk as soon as possible. It will really help with the gas pressure in your back.

Pre-Op diet to lose 5-10 pds

The interesting thing about increasing water intake...the more you drink, the more you want! I like to add a packet of raspberry crystal lite to my water on occasion to switch things up! Best of luck.
  21. Have you ever tried the diet pill, Phentermine? My doctor put me on it as I was losing the 15 pounds insurance required. It took away ALL my hunger AND desire for food. Check with your doctor to see if that might work for you.

Pre-Op diet to lose 5-10 pds

Thanks! Good luck to you as well. Does your surgeon require you to do a 1 - 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery? If so, I would use that as my way to lose the 15 pounds then when insurance approves, you will already have the liquid diet done. That's what I did and once approved, I got scheduled three days later.

    Hernias

You can bring it up with your surgeon or with the weight loss staff. If it is a hernia, they'll be able to see it when they are in there. Good luck!
  24. Lucabelle, Increase your Protein. How many grams are you getting a day?
