    Traditional Bypass Vs. Sleeve

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. After reading more, I have decided that the bypass is the best option. Looking to have surgery in August. Thanks again! Christi
  2. Because of insurance restrictions, the traditional gastric bypass may be my only option. I would appreciate any advice anyone has regarding the traditional bypass surgery and complications and success stories. Thanks. Christi

    Having A Hard Time

Nancy, I am just beginning my journey toward surgery so I will be in the same place you are in having to lose weight to meet insurance requirements. I can say from personal experience that exercise definitely makes me feel better and curbs my appetite. You don't necessarily have to go to the gym for hours, but some form of physical activity for 30 minutes a day will definitely help with your depression and your appetite. For the times you don't feel like going, try to visualize how you will look and feel once you reach your goal. No decision comes without hard work and dedication. There is no quick fix. Good luck to you! Christi

    Thinking About The Sleeve

Hi. I am a newbie as well and just made my decision yesterday. I am 45 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life with many ups and downs. I see my mom still struggling at 65 years old. I do not want to struggle for the rest of my life. My advice to you is if it is safe to do the procedure then do it now while you are young. Good luck. My First Nsv!

What does NSV stand for? Congratulations!
  12. Hi. I'm new to this site and just made my decision today. After struggling with weight my whole life, and realizing that I will struggle for the rest of my life, I decided to stop struggling. I have generations of women in my family who have battled weight their whole lives. It is now time for transformation and change! The next few months will be filled with nutritionist appointments, insurance paperwork, doctor consultations, blood tests, butterflies (I'm sure) and then finally in August I will have surgery. I look forward to posting before and after pictures. Nice to meet everyone! Christi
