  1. Amen to that! I was sleeved on Oct. 9th and I can definitely tell you that inches will come off when weight doesn't. Workout so your skin tightens up some and think BEAUTIFUL thoughts always. We are too blessed to be stressed!!! Stress makes you fat, we don't want that in our lives anymore so don't go there... Easier said than done but practice makes perfect!

  2. 10/13/12 update

Had my surgery on Tuesday 10/09. Found out the day before I was approved. I was in an emotional rollercoater. Day 2 & 3 were tough. Now' date=' I'm feeling stronger and am already seeing results. Thank you for prayers. Take care.[/quote']

    Oct. 20th update

I went to my doc two days ago, 24 lbs gone!!! Woohoo! I feel great. My boys were surprised to see how different I look. They are proud of me they say and that alone means the world to me. My insulin was cut out and my pills for diabetes cut down to one a day and doc said many more meds will be coming off of my list on the 15th when I see him again. This is what I am talking about!!! This is why I had this surgery done. Nice, little clothes too but HEALTH first!!! This will be my last week home and I plan to get a new haircolor, facial, pedicure, manicure, new makeup, clothes, one new perfume. Yup, it's all about me! Something I find so hard to do... I deserve it and I am so going for it!!! Good luck to all in recovery along with me. My prayers are with you and all future sleevers as well. Love you Sleeve Family!!!

  3. Did u schedule ur sleep study yet? They are not fun but well worth it. I feel so rested when I use my nasal pillows. I used to fall asleep driving on 76. Crazy tired!!! Not anymore. I'm from Feltonville area. I'm getting mine done at Mercy Fitzgerald' date=' Dr. Ram. Don't have a set date yet. Aetna is acting up after I completed all my tests, support, exercise, and nutrition classes. It's frustrating but I leave it in God's hands. Wishing you the best with yours.[/quote']

    Update:

I was given Oct. 9th as my date then told no, ins co is acting up. I went back and forth with everyone up until the 8th. Not even an hour after I got off the phone with aetna, I was called by the OR telling me to report the next day. I'm a wk post op, feel great, see results, meds are reduced already. wow! God is good all the time!!! Praise HIM!

  4. I will try calling Monday. Thank you.

    update:

I called my ins co Monday the 8th and found out some of my info was not sent to ins co. I called the surgeon's office and was told that info was sent. Not even an hour later I received a call that my denial was overturned and I am one wk postop today. Thank you for the advice. I feel great and can see the difference already.

  5. Good luck! How did everything go? When is your surgery scheduled. Thoughts and prayers for you as well.

No mountain where I live in Philly. ha ha ha! Glad I have this place to share my joy. It has been a loooooong journey getting to this point and I will make it worth my while. Nothing about this has been easy but I'm a champ. I can do this!!! God is with me 100%![/quote']

    10/13/2012 update

I am feeling better everyday. I am amazed at how strong I feel. I guess my tough workouts before surgery did help. I must say the second and third day whipped my butt. I refused to give in. I did my breathing exercises and got up on my own to the bathroom and even walked around with my sister. This is not the easy way out like some people say, nothing about this has been easy for me. It's easier to quit than to keep your eye on the prize. Thank you for all your prayers. I will keep you in mine. Take care and remember with God, everything is possible.

  9. What is with the saggy inner thighs!!!!!! BARF!!! :Any ideas on how to tone that particular area. I'm walking my butt off literally but that saggy drooping inner thigh is beyond gross. Does anyone think compression garments help....Like I hate Spanx but if it will stuff stay where it belongs then i'm game to try it. I'm 4'11 and down to 241 form 268.

Try a soft exercise ball. You can get them on Amazon. Squeeze between your legs doing 10 reps each, also wrap a resistance band around your knees and hold ends with ur hands and open close your legs. You won't be able to move your legs much but you will feel the tension from ur butt to ur inner and outer thighs. Good luck!

  10. I was told by my surgeon's office manager that my doc was having a peer to peer review with my insurance yesterday and that it is common. She assured me that I would get a phone call from the office in the afternoon. She made it seem as if my surgery date should not be affected. No phone call. I called and the answering service was on before the end of their hours of operation ended. I tried calling this morning, again answering service was activated during hours of operation. Finally, I reached an office rep and she told me the two ladies in charge of bariatric are not in but will be shortly. I just called and the answering service told me they are in a meeting until 1. I am so angry! My supervisor keeps asking me when am I leaving and expected to go out and I don't have a confirmation from these morons. I understand some patients don't work, but dammit I do. I can't just get up and leave my work piled up for someone else. I am trying to do as much as I can before I leave but this worrying and stressing is giving me a focusing issues. My mind is everywhere. I can't wait to get ahold of this office manager and I will definitely be complaining to many higher ups. UUUUUgggghhhh!!!!

  11. The one good thing about so many appointments is that you really have time to think about what you are doing. It gives you time to exercise, change your way of thinking about food, and really allow for this new life to sink in your brain and truly appreciate it. I journal so that I don't forget all the ups and downs. When I have the urge to give up or cheat, I will pick up that book and remind myself. OH HELL NO!!!

  12. Hi I have Aetna *** and I have gone to 17 appointments and getting a stress test done tomorrow. This journey has not been easy but I am not willing to throw in the towel. I just called my surgeon's office and they tell me I won't know for sure if Oct. 9th is a go until Thursday afternoon. I am so anxious, nervous, and excited that I feel like screaming. It all depends on your insurance on the amount of appointments and they also take into consideration your health issues and your family's as well. Good luck with everything! Stay focused on the new you and faith in God, everything will be all right!

  13. Thank you so much for the pep talk. I really appreciate it. I plan to work hard and make this dream a reality. I want to be healthy, look and feel great, be more energetic, have a wonderful life without meds or atleast drastically minimize what I am taking now. I can't help genes but I plan to do whatever it takes to fight for a healthy, new me!
