That's sooo exciting!!! Congrats!!!

Well I'm sure you all know I am still waiting on a surgery date! I received a phone call today from my weight loss center telling me that they talked with my insurance company and my insurance company has denied my approval for surgery because...get this.......IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY PLAN!!!! What????? When did this change I asked? She said she did not know but there was nothing more she could do. I told her that I would call my insurance company and call her back. I called my insurance company. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes. The lady I talked to said that it IS a covered procedure, if it is medically necessary and said that I was denied because my BMI was under 40. She said she would check everything out and call me back. I called the weight loss center to see what my BMI was on the chart that they sent in. She said it was 41.2!!! The lady at the insurance company called back about 4 hours later and said that everything should be covered as long as the precertification dept. approved. She gave me the fax # for precert. I called my weight loss center back and told her everything that insurance said and gave her the fax # and reference #. She said she would fax all the paper work to them. Hopefully I will find out if I'm approved within the next 48 hours. Please say a prayer...I've been sooooo emotional all day!!!! I almost went out and bought a pizza....but I didn't!!! I had a protein bar instead!!

My husband and I are taking my daughter to the zoo in 2 days and I was wondering if I could freeze my protein shake so I could have it for lunch. I will make it the night before and will freeze it an empty water bottle. I will have my morning shake before we leave the house but wanted to be able to stay on my diet even though we will not be home. Does freezing the protein shake alter the taste? I will pack it in a cooler so it shouldn't thaw and spoil. Anyone ever had to freeze their protein shakes before? Thanks!

I'm not banded yet and I've not had any problem giving up carbonated beverages. I've tried to be good with giving up coffee but sometimes places don't have decaf and I just HAVE to drink the leaded stuff!!! LOL

My Doctors guidelines say: "Wean yourself off ALL CAFFEINE AND ALL CARBONATED BEVERAGES. These items will need to be avoided for LIFE!

I used to have this problem all the time...especially when I was a cheerleader in high school (I wasn't fat then). I used deodorant. I rub it on both inner thighs and it worked great for me! Hope you find something that works for ya!!

Hi! Welcome and congrats on your surgery date! I haven't been banded yet, but I've learned alot on here.

Well, I have called the insurance company every day for 7 days and they say they have NOT received anything from my weight loss center. I have called the weight loss center and gave them the reference # and fax # and asked them to resubmit everything. The insurance company told me they would notify the weight loss center within 24 hours of receiving my information. I'm tired of waiting!!! Guess I will just keep walking/jogging my legs off and drinking my protein shakes in the mean time!! :D I'm down 22 pounds since May 17th.

I started it on the 13th. I did one day and that night my hip was killing me. I went back to just walking the next day. The last two days I have walked and jogged (shuffled more like it! :0). My hip still hurts a little but nothing like it did that first night. I am waiting until my hip feels better before I do the program again. :-)

I started it today. I did okay with it. It wasn't the fastest jog but atleast I did jog! LOL I did enjoy it though!!

Thanks guys. I guess I will call my weight loss center tomorrow just to make sure what they want me to do. Was just wondering what you guys have done so I wouldn't have to bother the poor receptionist again. I seem to call her every other day with questions. LOL

In my Weight Loss Center packet it tells me to take a Centrum chewable Multivitamin every day. In one part of the packet it tells me to start taking them now and another part tells me to wait until after my surgery. My question is should I start now or wait until after my surgery? What have you all done? Would it really hurt me to start them now? Thanks for answering me. :-) Penny

well I haven't been banded yet, but I've lost an automobile tire!! WOO-HOO!!! Congrats on everyone's weight loss!!!

My paperwork was sent to my insurance company yesterday. I am waiting for their approval !!! After their approval I will have to attend a pre-surgery class and also meet with my surgeon. At that meeting he will determine when my surgery is. I hope this goes by quickly! I would love to be banded before school starts again at the 3rd week of August!! I would love to be banded at the end of July/first of August so I will have time to recover! Congrats everyone on your surgery dates!

I called again this morning and they have submitted everything to my insurance!!! WOO-HOO!!!! Keep your fingers crossed that my insurance makes a fast approval!!!!! :-)

I have been watching what I eat since May 17th when I was told I was pre-diabetic. I quit drinking carbonated/caffeine beverages and cut out sweets. I've lost 18 pounds. :-) But I would really like to be banded before I start back to work next month ( I work at an elementary school). :-(

I had my upper endoscopy a week ago today. I was told that it was the last step before submitting everything to my insurance for final approval. I have called several times this week and left messages for the weight loss center to call me with any updates. I called again today and was told that my chart was still on the nurses desk and hasn't went to the insurance company yet. The receptionists transferred me to the nurse, but of course she didn't answer and she didn't return my call today!! UGH!!! I would really like for my chart to go to my insurance so I can hurry up and get a surgery date!!!!!
