  1. Thank you so much for your wonderful post! I was banded June 29/12 and im just not there any more!! I am not discouraged, just not as motivated....I haven't found my sweet spot and hoping my second fill will give me some restriction. I set a goal to lose 25 lbs by December and wondering if I can do it!! Your post is going to encourage me to start fresh tomorrow ! Keep up the great work!! :)

  2. Man!! I feel the exact same way ! I am 13 weeks post op, had my first fill 3 weeks ago and I still can't feel much restriction! I even think I gained a pound and embarrassed to go for my second fill next week! Recently a trainer that I worked with posted online how she feels surgery is a way out and I think that is bringing me down!! Having the surgery doesn't make it any easier!! But what I keep telling myself that I CAN do it, and so can you!!

  3. I had my first fill last Friday. The nurse only put 0.5 cc in and I didnt think I would feel any restrictions but wow! What a difference. This was my first fill since my surgery June 29. She had to poke me a couple of times because my surgeon put my port at an angle so the bubble won't pop out when I lose weight. I HATE needles but didn't even feel it when she used the needle! It's going to be fine. Good luck!!

  4. Awesome! Keep up the great work! My surgery date was 6/26/12' date=' I have lost 43 lbs. not proud yet lol. It's so refreshing to hear u are:) best wishes[/quote']

Be proud of what you lost!! My surgery was June 29 and I'm down 30lbs!! I'm no longer 300 lbs!!! Best feeling ever!!! This journey is so hard and worth it!! Keel up the awesome work!! Congrats!!!!

  5. I know eight weeks is two months' date=' but one person said i could have it done at six weeks and one said eight weeks. I would prefee to go at six weeks but the fill center will not do it until eight weeks. I was just trying to find out if that was common. Thank you![/quote']

Well I'm 8 weeks post op and just going for my first fill next week! I'm guessing each dr is different!

  6. how soon could one go back to work after having the lapband done? I am a dental assistant and not sure how much time to ask for when the time comes .

    Hi chenie69

I took 2 weeks off, but I feel after a week I was good to go. I guess it depends on how strenuous your job is. I work in an office setting, sitting at a desk, sl 1 week would have been fine. But get rest! You will be tired for a bit!! Good luck!!

  7. Lol....I feel the same way. People always ask me how much I've lost and they look at me like I should have dropped more. I had one person that knows about my band ( who hasn't seen me since I had it) who I saw just today and she actually gave me the up and down look like she was thinking' date=' " I thought you were suppose to be loosing weight!" I've lost 21 lbs total so far including pre op dieting and I think that's pretty dang good!!![/quote']

Heck ya it's good! Losing weight is hard enough as it is....lol...anything lost is better then anything gained!! ;)

  8. This is what I've learned in my 22 months of being banded.

    1. Everyone's journey is different. I didnt lose all that much at first. In the first 6 months I think I lost 50 lbs. and that was including the 20 I lost pre-surgery.

    2. Other people do not understand. Heck it took me awhile to figure it all out. People expect you to lose weight immediately or they think the lapband is this miracle cure for overweight people. They say.. oh well' date=' she had lap band surgery- like I didn't fight like the devil to lose this weight, even with the lapband!

    2. We are all in this for the long haul. Give yourself a break, you're doing great and it will only get better!

    HooRay for you![/quote']

Littledog....that is exactly how I feel!!! Very well said!!! :)

  9. I'm also 7 weeks post op today! And I am going through phases where I gained a pound...honestly the only weight I lost was from my pre op plan....don't get discouraged!! I have days too....try downloading my fitness pal! Helps track what you are eating! Be honest with what you eat! I have read that some people don't start seeing huge results until a few months after! Be proud of what you lost! It's hard work!!!

  10. I am so glad I read this today!! I'm just about 7 weeks post op and I have been kind of is discouraged myself! One reason why is because people keep asking me how much I lost so far, and honesty it's like they expect me to use the bathroom and crap out 50lbs! But reading this has helped me continue to look forward to my fantastic journey!! My weight loss is slow, feels like all i am keeping off is my preop weight! Grr.. But i know we can all do it!!! Best decision ever made was getting the band!! Good luck everyone!!

  11. Thanks for the info! It definitely is a mental thing! I haven't had anything stuck yet...sounds painful!! I will make myself cut the bites up!! Great info!! I appreciate the shares!! Maybe spoons with holes in it will help! Lol

On a side note this site is amazing!! Thanks for the support as always!!

  12. Hi! I'm just over 5 weeks post op and I just can't get passed the small dime size pieces...I take big bites and chew like crazy(counting every bite) and then there are days I'm thinking about smaller bites...how can I stop myself from eating the bigger bites? I know it's my old self with my old eating habits...any tips on how to stop the big bites??
