leighx got a reaction from readytogoforit in Changed My MindThank you all. I appreciate all the insight and debate. Just keep it polite and simple. I never meant to start a name calling war. We are all people with the same issues looking for support and advice. I appreciate it.

leighx got a reaction from Iwant2Bthatgirl in Perfect Idea For Everyone! So ladies and gentlemen, I have thought of a pretty good idea. I went to the store (Target) but also you can go to the grocery store or Walmart. I bought:
a binder
page protectors
dividers
highlighters
colored pens
one folder
I sat for two hours on my computer and looked up recipes for all different stages of our post-op diet. I separated all the different diet recipes that I liked. And also separated them into Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Desserts, and drinks. This makes it easier for quick reference to make meals. Also it is easier to plan a week's worth of meals. And also for food shopping!
I put all my important paperwork gathered so far from all my doctors and specialists regarding the surgery into a folder. Lists of food groups and nutritional information from my nutritionists, I put in page protecters and put them in the front of the binder for easy reference. I also put loose leaf paper in the back to write things down if necessary. I plan to make a to-do list before and after surgery and a to-read list as well for good books to read regarding our surgery.
Everything is in one place, clean, and organized just the way I like it. Hope this helps all of you busy bees!

leighx got a reaction from ashleyxx in Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?Does anyone else feel like they aren't going to get to their ideal weight once surgery is over and done with? I guess I am so used to failed diets and I just want this to work. I want this more than anything, but it's hard to put it all together.

leighx got a reaction from bean406 in Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?I really appreciate that advice. Thank you for your kind words!

leighx reacted to bean406 in Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?I can totally understand how you feel. I too have been on so many failed diets that it's always in the back of my mind that this might not work. I actually expressed my concern to my doctor who told me I would pretty much be the first person ever it didn't work for! Just keep the faith and keep your eye on your goal. Positive thinking and good eating choices is the way to go.

leighx reacted to iegal in Suggestions Please!I haven't found books, but will wait to see what suggestions come up.
You are smart to deal with any physc issues up front because the surgeon only does surgery on your stomach and not your brain.
Suggest the internet and of course this forum. Many great topics to help you go and get more insight on challenges you will face and items you have not yet considered. Best wishes!

leighx got a reaction from Nina88 in Suggestions Please!I am looking for good books regarding surgery and living life after surgery. Does anyone have suggestions if they have read any good books that have really helped them? I need something also that deals with the emotional aspect of the drastic change I am about to undergo. All suggestions are appreciated!
