    Shame

    Honesty about your less than perfect eating day and the emotions that brought them on is all good things. You are recognizing the behavior and that keeps us accountable. Shame should no longer be part of the emotion. Noone will be mad at you.....you are doing a good job of that all by yourself. Forgive yourself......feel what you are feeling and tomorrow is another day. xoxox.

    Take a deep breath. This will all work out. Unless they feel you have a health condition that is a contraindication for having a band...I am sure things will work out well....have faith and go through the process.

    Be Honest with yourself...

    I think at some point....we all lie to ourselves about how much we ate. When I finally got honest and started logging my food....I was mortified! Ignorance was bliss...or was it? Honesty is a big part of the process. Guilt and Shame shouldn't be! You are an inspiration to a lot of us! Thank you for sharing.

    I just blogged about this as well. But you know what I learn everyday? We are changing physically, emotionally, and psychologically. It's part of the process......but "others" don't change. Keep your eye on the prize.....and that guy wasn't it when you were fat...and won't be when your thin.

  15. This week I have been confronted with more and more people noticing my "physical changes". This makes me feel very vulnerable and I am not sure why? I have been heavy my whole life and I think, for the most part, I have "accepted" this about myself. Even "identified" with being heavy. With time, I have compensated by having a BIG personality in order to be "seen". I drove myself to accomplish many things. For instance, I was a good student, I worked very hard on my career and got promoted because of it, I am a good friend, sister, daughter, etc. I really felt that, aside from my weight, I have a lot to offer to the world and I am displaying this in other aspects of my life. Until my weight became a VERY unhealthy issue, I really didn't think it held me back from living my life. The more people focus on my physical changes...the more I want to hide. Hiding was never an issue when I was heavier. I have noticed that taking a compliment has been difficult, that the more people focus on how "good" I look...the more I have tuned down my personality in order to now take the focus off myself. My brain still has not caught up with the changes my body has made. I am hoping the journey will help understand these new feelings and vulnerabilities. Perhaps accepting a new identity and a new normal. I am learning a lot about myself and as much excitement this process brings....it's also dusting up fears that I didn't even know I had.

    Feeling Guilty

    Guilt is what made me fat. Use your awareness and mindfulness and make today a new day. The more you recognize your triggers and behaivors...the easier it will be to change them.

    Banded 3/1/13; Port replaced 5/3/13

    I also had the exact same thing happen to me. I had the port replaced about 10 days or so ago. I was frustrated over the ordeal at first but I am glad it was caught early and can move on with the journey. I was banded on 2/7.
  18. I know there are some of us, including myself, that get frustrated with the scale and really need other tangible benchmarks. I was at a place where I just felt like, "only 45 pounds so far':..."I have so much more to lose." It seemed daunting to me. I couldn't see how far I had come. For those of you who want to know what 45 pounds looks like. Here it is. And it is impressive!!

    Bittersweet

    Yay congrats! Fortunately and unfortunately for me...most things are too big for me these days as well. I pick up a few things here and there but my butt is still wearing saggy underwear and "the girls" need a tighter bra for sure. All good problems to have I know....but still problems (wink).
  22. I agree with Missy! At the very least...they can give you something to help the nausea until your doctor's office opens on Monday! Nowadays.....I ask all my docs for anti nausea meds if I think something is brewing!!

    Maybe you are taking in too little calories? Talk to your doc or nut about this but at this point....500 calories may be too little. Good luck.
