Down 92 Pounds And So Thankful!

Congrats and love your post and so much honesty....I'm 8 weeks and finally under 300! (56lbs lost)....I've been in your shoes, hating myself, hiding and being basically anti-social because of my weight....and it makes me cry too what I did to myself. Some days I feel like I'll never really get to the weight I want cause ive still got about 130lbs to lose, but like you said, each day is a new day and my body is working for me . Congrats again!!!
  6. I'm 7 weeks and can finally sleep on my left side without the weird "heavy" feeling. Before I always put a pillow under left side to be comfortable but first few weeks couldn't sleep any other way but on my back...it will get better
  7. I am so overjoyed to see 299 on the scale this morning! This might sound funny, but it finally seems real! 51 pounds is alot of weight but when you're 350 pounds and every time you step on the scale you're still in the 300's, it just seems like it's going to take forever! I'm so excited to see the scale starting with a 2!!!!! SO EXCITED!

I Finally Hit The Two's! 51 Pounds In 7 Weeks

Thanks everybody! I saw someone ask if I'm exercising and I'm not on a regular basis but I REALLY NEED TO! I still struggle with energy level and when I pushed myself a few weeks ago I felt so bad for a couple days I'm gun-shy . But I see that I really need to work out and work on toning....I notice the soft skin! Plus I want to make sure that I'm building muscle and not losing it. Also, a little more detail....I started at my highest 350, pre-op I lost 17, surgery day 333. Today is exactly 7 weeks (lost 2 more pounds) and I'm 297. So 36lbs or an average of about 5lbs per week....I'm very happy with that pace and hope I can keep it up! . Good luck to everyone and thanks for the support!!!

Congrats!!! I can't wait to post the same....I'm 1 pound away! Great job, you look great!
  12. I would do it again in a heartbeat! It's the best thing I EVER did for myself...even through the nausea and first few weeks are hard, but it all passes...at least for me it has. I'm 50 pounds down and Thursday will be 7 weeks (lost 17 pre-op diet). I only wish I did it sooner! Best of luck!

    August Sleeves?!

Sleeved 8/2. Pre-op diet started at 350. Lost 17 on pre-op, down 33 since surgery for a total of 50. This Thursday will be 7 weeks. Just in the last week I have been able to take more water in, like a regular size drink, which is so nice, but I still have super dry mouth all the time! I'm on regular food, but stick to all high protein foods...eggs, cottage cheese, protien shakes, chicken breast, turkey, soft cheeses, steamed veggies with sprinkled cheese...I can eat bread with a sandwich but only a few bites. My tummy can not handle ANY raw veggies or salad. For the people struggling with weight, switching things up has helped my stalls....eat 2 days higher carbs and then 2 days lower (no more than 20 grams) carbs...this keeps your body burning . I have not been exercising but I REALLY need to start...I'm starting to notice soft skin . Good luck to all!!!!

Surgery 9/4 & Hard Vein From Iv

I had the same thing!!!....I was sleeved on 8/2. At first it was about an inch long, hurt really bad and hard..... I did a warm compress and it helped. Eventually the pain goes away, but I still have a little hard bump 7 weeks later...but it continues to get smaller. My dr. said it was nothing to worry about and it will go away Hope this helps!

    Salad?

I agree....salad didn't go well at week 6....it's the worst I've felt eating anything.... I'll give it another couple weeks, mahybe even a month, before I try again!

    Pinch Me Please?

    That is so awesome! Congrats!
  18. So about a month ago I was at dinner with my sister and I noticed her hands didn't look dry (she's always had super dry skin) and her hair looked fuller/thicker...so I reached over and grabbed her hair and said what the heck have you done to your hair?!? She said "oh I've been drinking honey and vinegar..didn't I tell you?". Ummmm - NO! So for the last 3 weeks I've been drinking it....sure enough thicker hair and softer skin!!! No joke. So here's the receipe 1 Tablespoon Trader Joes Organic Raw honey and 1 Tablespoon Trader joes Organic UNFILTERED Apple Cider Vinegar...add to a 6-8oz of hot/warm water, stir in and enjoy. I tried other brands but I'm telling you Trader joes is the best and it has to be UNFILTERED vinegar. The vinegar alkalizes in the body which is where the health benefits come in. I really wanted to share this with everyone and also ask...do you think I can continue to drink immediately after sleeved?...will the vinegar be too strong? I'm hoping this might help with hair loss/thinning???
  19. Best thing I EVER did for myself. Yes, the first few days, even first 2 weeks is just different. I have never had surgery before this, so I really didn't know what to expect. It was much better than I anticipated as far as pain and getting around. You will have discomfort and I think the most difficult is just learning how to eat again. I'm almost 6 weeks and almost each day brings something new. In my opinion, the horror stories you hear on here about people hating it or wishing they could go back, are dealing (again, my opinion) with the emotional aspect of not being able to turn to food, The vice is taken away....now what? How do I cover up this pain or deal with it? I did suffer a little depression around week 3, but it was fleeting. I have never had the feeling that I wish I didn't do it. I am so HAPPY every single day that I feed myself for nutrition and nothing else, but I was also very ready to give up the food and have never wanted something more. It almost doesn't seem real to KNOW the weight is going to come off....it's a strange feeling sometimes. I do consider myself lucky in that I had no complications, expect that the pain meds in the hospital did not agree with me and I had to stay an extra night....that was the worst part of my entire experience. The only other thing I can think of is the energy level....you have to get in the protein and make sure you feed and hydrate yourself throughout the day. People do end up dehydrated and honestly that seems pretty easy to do considering how little you can take in at first. Each day gets better and like I said, I don't regret 1 single second. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
  20. Weighing in.... Down 4lbs this week! 55 pounds more to go by Halloween. I know it's a big goal, but ladies I got A LOT to lose! Weighing in on Saturdays.

    How To Break A Stall

There's lots of posts on here about stalls...my experience...add more calories/fat/carbs to your diet...or carb cycling. Your body has gotten used to what you're doing
