  1. Congratulations! That is an amazing accomplishment.
  2. I spoke too soon. Both my legs are killing me. The pain starts in the inside of both my thighs and the rest of my leg is like one massive charlie horse. The doc's going to send me back to the hospital to make sure I don't have blood clots, but most likely they think I'm low on electrolytes. I don't get sick drinking liquids or anything, it's just hard to get any great amount into you when you're only taking baby sips.
  3. I had my surgery yesterday (July 11) so I'm finally on my way to the next stage in my life. I came home this afternoon and am feeling pretty good. I haven't had any problems worth noting, yet. It feels good to be on the "other side" now!
  4. Thank you very much, Amy. I'm very excited for tomorrow to get here and to get started on the new me!
  5. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. What a let-down! But try not to let it get you down. You'll have the surgery when the time is right. You're in my prayers.
  6. Fantastic!!! Way to go!!
  7. Best of luck to you. I'm a day behind you. I can't wait to get on with this!
  8. Absolutely! Sometimes I have to make myself stop reading the forums because I'm driving myself crazy with information overload. But this has been such a great place to find out what really goes on.
  9. Congratulations and I hope you continue to have a smooth recovery.
  10. I don't think you should feel guilty about not telling your co-workers everything. It's a personal decision and they don't need to know. I think your explanation of having your band removed is just fine. JMHO.
  11. It's normal to be nervous. I don't think you'd be human if you weren't at least a little nervous. Best of luck to you and we'll be waiting to hear how you're doing. My surgery is Wednesday. Right now I'm more excited than nervous but I'm sure come Tuesday that will change.
  12. Mina -- I love your attitude. I feel the same way you do. Why go through all this just to cheat? It's very hard to get through this pre-op phase, but I see it as a test. If I can't do this part, I shouldn't have the surgery.
  13. Hang in there ... it gets easier. And it's really nice when the weight starts coming off.
  14. Congratulations! Good luck on Monday.
  15. Congratulations! Good luck on Monday.
  16. 62 lbs in 3 months is awesome! What would make your mother think this was "slowing down"? I hope I do half as well.
  17. Welcome and good luck with your surgery Thursday. I'm on the pre-op diet, too, and I agree...it sucks!
  18. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, especially at such a young age. Keep the Faith and know that lots of people are praying for you and wishing you all the best.
  19. Fantastic!! I'm glad it worked out for you.
  20. Hi !! I'm 55 and I've got 2 weeks to go until I get my surgery. I just started my pre-op diet today. I'm excited about making this decision to get my weight under control, but at the same time, scared! I think if I can get through these first couple of days on this crazy diet, I'll be okay. I'm very glad I found this forum so there's some place to discuss my feelings with people who understand what I'm going through. Congratulations to all of you who have already been through the surgery and doing so well on your weight loss. You're all truly an inspiration to those of us still waiting.
  21. Glad to hear you're doing so well. Don't ever lose that great attitude of yours!
  22. I'm getting excited that the date of my surgery is getting close, but after all the rough times I've read about on here about the pre-op diet, I'm really not looking forward to starting that tomorrow. I've already warned my coworkers that I might be a little on the cranky side for a few days. Wish me luck...I can't imagine not eating for 2 whole weeks! Yikes!
