  1. I had my surgery on the 28th of June. I was back in the ER on the 30th with issues with breathing. After they tested me for blood clots, pnuemonia, and other things they finally said my surgeon had said this was normal. My diaphragm was swollen and that it would get better. It did - but I was in the ER on Monday due to dehydration. They filled me up with 3 litres and sent me home. I saw my doc on Tuesday and they said it was a combination of my BP med (has a water pill in it) and my not drinking enough. Told them that I was full and I was only getting in about 25 - 30gms of liquid protein. So I was stuffed and was trying to get all my water in. So - I am now on Water, and maybe 10gms of protein. Need to get the kidney enzymes down - so my moving to the pureed diet is now delayed. And man I was so looking forward to those scrambled eggs on Friday!!! But I have lost 10#s since surgery. I would not recommend a water diet...
  2. So excited and nervous. Surgery is scheduled for June 28th. G
  3. I am being banded on June 28th. I had to go thru 6 months of medically managed diet. I have lost 35 pounds and am now 13 days out from Surgery. I don't have to do the two liquid regimen as I have lost so much weight. I do have to do a liquid on the 26 th, clear on the 27th and do a colon cleanse on that day. And we just ordered probably 90 bottles of the premix Protein drinks to have on hand. I will be on drinks for two weeks after surgery then one week pureered then one week soft and then I can start bringing in more chewable food. We thought surgery would have been August or so. Insurance approved way faster than we anticipated. OMG I am going thru all sorts of emotions from scared, excited, nervous, scared. It is mostly the unknown that scares me.

    Now I'm Scared!

Oh good - I am NOT the only one to feel scared, nervous, confused, excited, happy, scared.... My surgery is the 28th. Two weeks from right now I will be home (hopefully) and starting my new life. I am scared - try not to think too much on it but sometimes my mind takes off and I get a little on the anxious side. But just today I was talking to a friend and I was so happy and excited. I think it is the fear of the unknown that is scaring me. I haven't done this before so don't knwo what to do about it. I have had 5 surgeries and several colonoscopies - even with my hysterectomy I did not feel this nervous. I am so glad to know I am normal... well as normal as I can get....
  5. Wow - I never thought of some of the items in this list. I have surgery on 6/28. I will add this stuff to my list. Especially like the pillow and heating pad ideas... And I am nervous too!!!
