Share Your Tummy Tuck Journey..
smellbug replied to jaymzee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
No they have not told me anything like that. I know of three women here in my support group here who have had the panniculectomy and breast lift done with no out of pocket exspensives. I know they preform the panniculectomy here at NAS. I have not looked into the breast lift. As to where they do them. Hope I was helpful. Tara -

Birth Control?... Possibly Tmi
smellbug replied to wikdwich's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I have a few friends say their partner can feel it. Also had a friend have hers fall out and that is why they tell you to check for the string. -

I have Tri-Care prime and having surgery at a military treatment facility they will cover a panniculectomy. The only requirements that I have been told is that they normally will not do it until about 18 months post op. I was told you need to reach goal weight and then maintain for 6 months. Once that happens they will do a panniculectomy and a breast lift. Good luck. Best wishes Tara -
I can definitely see the difference. Keep up the good work. Tara

Birth Control?... Possibly Tmi
smellbug replied to wikdwich's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is one of my biggest fears. I have three children the last one was a surprise baby due to failed birth control. When I say failed birth control I had a tubal ligation after my second child and three years later on Christmas I turn up pregnant. Now I have had my tubes tied again and my husband had a vasectomy but still have fears. I will be talking to my doctor to try and get another form of birth control. Tara -

Amazing!! You have such wonderful results in just 2 months. Keep up the good work -
well I can say here in Jacksonville Fl I was weighed in at all my NUT appointments but not for my psych. Also everytime I had an appointment at general surgery I was weighed in.

It's ok to slip up. The good thing is you know you did and what you need to do to fix it. People ask me why am I still having surgery when after doing the 6 months of diet and exercise I have lost 20 pounds. They say I do not need the surgery. I tell them I know myself. Something will happen and I will fall off the program and gain all the weight I lost plus more. I tell them how the surgery for me is a tool so if I slip it will let me know and not let one slip turn into many slips. Good luck. I know you get thru this. Tara

Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under
smellbug replied to ladymacwhiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey everyone. I am 5'0" and weigh in at 202. I am pre-op with a surgery date of Sept. 18th. I am so excited to have my surgery and start my new life. Good luck to everyone on their journey. Tara -
Most people including me get bummed when they hear about the six month wait. I wanted surgery right away. I can tell you I have learned so much about myself and thru this forum learned so much about this surgery. This forum also has a ton of good advise about how to be successful. People talk about the ups and downs of the surgery. I know that my program tells you it does not matter how much weight I lose during the 6 months all that counts is your starting weight. Also they said they do not like to see you gain because if you are honestly making all the small changes in your lifestyle to eat better and get more physical activity you will lose something. Good luck in your journey. Best wishes. Tara
