Share You Weight Loss Please :)
Congrats, there are so many awesome changes in store for you. I agree with all the previous post, you have to put the effort in and do the work and eat healthy. It's so worth it in the end. I'm 7 months post op and am down 86lbs. Exercise is difficult at first but gets easier the more pounds you lose. I don't know where it came from but I have a little sign that says, "It doesn't matter how slow you go, you're still lapping people sitting on the couch!" Congrats again and good luck!

Day One Of Liquid Diet!
My surgeon and his nurses have all done the 2 week liquid diet with the Optifast so they could see what their patients go through. He suggested chewing gym because it seemed to help him and it seemed to help me too. Goo luck, you CAN do it!!!

So Discouraged!!!
Hang in there! The lapband really is a tool. I'm 7mnths post op now and couldn't be happier. At first I had a hard time, but then realized it was up to me to control what I put in my mouth everyday. You have to make a personal committment to yourself. It really is a whole way of life. I had to learn self control which was the hardest thing for me. Don't get me wrong, I do have those moments where I just have to have to eat something bad, but those moments are few and far between these days. And when I do have those moments they are in moderation. As the weight came off, it got a little easier to exercise too. Now I excercise 30mins a day 6 days a week. Once I hit my goal I will cut it back to 3-4 days a week, but realize I will have to do it to maintain. Just like people have already said, protein is the key. Filling up on protein really does make a difference. You'll have bumps along the road and plateaus too, I don't know of anyone who hasn't. Just keep moving forward and focus on why you did this. I even made a vision board and hung it in the room I exercise in. I keep a picture of it on my phone motivation too. Just remember why you started and don't give up. It's easier to give up, but if it's worth having, it's worth working for too!

No Fill For Now!!
I'm so sorry, that can really upset a person. My surgeon never has trouble finding my port, but I've had trouble with one the lady doctors a couple of times. The 2nd time she had so much trouble she had to give me a second numbing shot. I'm not sure how many times she ended up poking me but I was also about to cry. I actually did when I got into the car and called my husband. It's just the whole idea I guess. I was even sore for a couple days after, but it wasn't bad. Keep positive, it's all worth it in the end.

Ugh So Unhealthy
Just think what wonderful things are in store for your future. I was just like that, feeling bad about myself and thinking I was going to die anytime we had to go to an amusement park or anything. But now I am 7mnths post op and have lost 83lbs. I feel soooooo much better! I can do more and not be out of breathe. I feel great!!!! I still have 28 more pounds to go until I reach my goal. If you buckle down and really work hard, you CAN do anything! Good luck:)
