I've been banded since July 2012. I lost about 60 lbs pretty quickly then came to a complete stand still for a long time. Now I have started to gain. I have been having issues with acid reflux on and off for awhile now. I have taken Prilosec to help, but it gets better then returns. Going through a really bad spell of it now. Couldn't sleep last night because every time I laid down and fell asleep the reflux would return. I've tried mylanta, tums, sitting up, etc. not sure what to do from here. Haven't been to my doc since Feb and it's July now. Scared he's going to take out all my Fluid and wait it out. I don't want to gain anymore!!!!!! Anyone else with these issues?! What is causing it? Slipped band? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

I did pretty well at Easter dinner. My husband bbq'd chicken and he leaves the sauce for the side. My Mother had a plain fruit bowl' date=' so that was my meal. While everyone else had brownies and ice cream, I had cherry yogurt. My brother's boys are 3 and 14, so of course we had an Easter egg hunt for the 3 yr old. Beautiful day!The highlight of my day was a call from my nephew, the marine. He is a gorgeous specimen at 6'7" and of course in excellent shape....he and his wife both! I had responded to an email from his wife and included a recent picture. He told me on the phone yesterday that when she showed it to him, he said, "that is not my Aunt!". He told me how proud and excited he is for me and just went on and on! It was just fabulous and he genuinely meant every word. I adore him and he is such a wonderful young man. We are very proud of him! The son I never had....

Awww...that was nice of him!

Went to my primary doctor today he is very proud of my dedication and my blood panel. My fasting A1c shows I am headed on the right path to remove my Pre-diabetic (insulin resistance) status! AND the very best thing is he reduced my blood pressure meds to the lowest possible dose! I am so excited these very things scared the hell out of me' date=' hence the reason I actually did something about my weight.Doc states he will fully take me off my BP meds if I continue to report lower levels THIS IS HUGE TO ME. I hate taking pills and my poor heart having to work so hard for so long. I have been on BP meds for years.
This is me excited: Shaking my booty............

My brothers and I don't get together very often but we were all there for our Mum's 70th birthday. My older brother has always been a very big man but all I have heard for a couple of years is how much weight he has lost. My younger brother has always been tall and whippet thin.well' date=' this time (and forever more) I was the skinnier sibling! Yay for my band.[/quote']
That's great news!!! I have always been the heaviest sibling in my family. I know how that must feel. Congrats!

Congrats! I too have noticed my belly being smaller, but mine while in my car. At my heaviest my belly would tend to rub on the steering wheel a bit, but now I sit comfortably and it's not even close. I've also been able to wear my belt on the 5th notch when before it was on the very last one and very snug. The little things mean the most.

I was banded just about 4 months ago on 11/6/12. I have lost 66lbs so far I did this before and after picture a few weeks ago when I hit the 60lbs lost mark. The before picture was from Spetember 2011' date=' and was not at my heaviest weight. I am looking forward to more progress![/quote']

concerning the restaurants closing' date=' I live in Lakeland, Fl. That is where Darden rest started. I, also, have not heard about a closing of the restautants. Maybe some of the local places, but not the chains. I did hear that they had a loss last quarter![/quote']Hey neighbor! I live in Wauchula, Fl. Neat to finally see someone close to home.

Thank you so much Tricia. How are you doing? Can I ask you what your eating (examples)? Maybe I can try something different.I've lost 52 pounds so far and it's been 7 months. I go back next week to the doc to hopefully add to that number...lol. I usually eat a Protein bar for Breakfast or scrambled eggs with some cheese and milk. All have a good amount of Protein. You might could try yogurt too. Try your best to keep your protein intake up and drink plenty of Water. Maybe talk to your doc about upping your Biotin mg per day.
Again...I'm still learning about my band and what things I need to eat and what I really shouldn't. I wish I could help more. Sorry.
Good Luck to you.

Best wishes to you on your journey.

Ohhh honey...I'm so sorry your going through such a hard time with your band. I can't comment much on what your going through other than to say my hubby noticed my hair getting thinner too. My hair has always been full, but now it's thin and light. I take Biotin pills also to try to help it. Sorry I can't be much help, but I had to comment and let you know that I'm sure others are going through or have gone through the same things. Hang in there! I wish you all the best.
