  1. Good luck on your pre-op' date=' I start my pre-op on Thursday. I am excited for all of s. I stay away from all the negative naysayers...I have 3 co-workers tat had the sleeve with the doctor I am using and they have nothing but great things to se and fabulous weight lss results to go along with it. They are my personal counsels for all my questions and concerns. One of them s a year post op and the other two are less than five months pst op! We will do GREAT!![/quote']

Thanks! I'll be rooting for you too!

  2. You will do great! This is a positive thing don't let anyone bring you down' date=' this is for you! I'm excited for you! It was the best decision I've made in a long time !! Youre in my thoughts!!!! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Thanks lessofmeismore! This site was really helpful in my decision to do this, a great place for lots of positivity :-)

  3. My day was moved up because of work commitments.....was Aug 13 now July 16......I feel like I'm going into panic mode! One day excited, next day terrified....mostly just tired of arguing with people who think the surgery is a dangerous cop-out to diet and exercise (not my family though)...starting pre-op diet Sunday, wish me luck :-)

  4. I initially went in to learn about the band, but I travel internationally for work and was told that A: after being on a flight over 5-6 hrs you sometimes have to do all liquids for a few days because of decompression (had never thought of this) and B: if there is an issue and the band needs to be adjusted or there is some kind of emergency it can be extremely difficult to find a competent Dr. In some countries. So there we were with surgery options and for me I was more comfortable with the sleeve because it seems less extreme and safer (less disruption with what nature intended!) I also have a friend who did the full bypass and she has a lot of dumping and malabsorption issues - is also now anemic. My friend who had the sleeve done, all she says it that she wishes she had done it sooner.

  5. Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Emily- I'm in the first stages of qualifying through my insurance. I have Cigna and I am completing my 6 month supervised diet this month- (which I found out today that Cigna has very recently changed that from 6 months to 3 months). My psyc eval is done' date=' my regular MD is preparing my surgery clearance and recommendation- so after all that I'll be set. Then the waiting game begins! Anyone else have good advice for qualifying quick and smooth through Cigna?[/quote']

I just got approved by Cigna a few weeks ago (after doing the 6 mos with a dietician). My papers were submitted and I was approved all in 6 working days. As long as you have all the right papers submitted it should be easy and quick. My approval is good for 6 months which is helpful because it allowed me a little more flexibility in planning for my time off from work. I'm now scheduled for surgery Aug 13th....soooo nervous now, I wish it were sooner. Good luck!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

  6. Me too but I know there rare and fixable waking up I tubated and not figuring out how to eat right and vomiting are freaking me out post op psi too but there are paid meds having so much time to think about it is good and bad I can rationalize most of my fears but I do lose sleep' date='over it[/quote']

Oh yeah, the throwing up too for sure. Yuck....

  7. This meetup has no affilation to a clinic' date=' doctor's office or hospital....we are just a group of people who meetup to do different things in the city, right now we are in the process of planning a bowling meetup for next month and recipe swap either at the end of next month of early August[/quote']

I've requested a sign on for meet.com, just waiting on the confirmation email :-)

  8. Anytime! Seriously...I want to have more people around me that understand that a kids meal is even too much to eat! lol.

Thanks! That means a lot, nor a lot of people have been positive or understand what this means to me, so no one to talk to about it. I look forward to meeting you and you're welcome to contact me anytime too!

  9. Hi Ladies! I've just gotten Ins. approval and am now scheduled for Aug 13th. It's being done by Dr. Collier in Conroe, Tx (just north of Houston). I was excited but now that it's "real" I'm having a lot of anxiety and second guesses! Not worried that I won't be able to do the work, just worried something will go wrong with the surgery. Now after reading your posts I'm feeling better - glad you're all here!
