  1. I'm wondering why your surgeon would take you off of your thyroid meds?? My advice would be to go to your PCP and have blood work done and get back on your thyroid meds. The thyroid is not something to mess with and I am surprised he took you off the meds instead of monitoring your thyroid and adjusting your meds as needed. I have been on thyroid meds for the last few years and have blood work done every six months (or sooner if I feel symptoms) and my meds are adjusted as they need to be. Since my surgery my dosages have been changed twice, my PCP watches it very closely.

oops sorry about that i thought i was tooken off my thyroid pill but it was a different pill he took me off of i get my spironolactone and my thyroid pill mixed up lol

  2. Hey everyone, i am fustrated and confused i have been gaining weight and i was sleeved on july 6th and even though its only 2 pounds.. i have gained another pound today and im afraid its gonna get worse.. i mean i am eating what i am suppose to be eating, i walk everyday i eat very little and im taking my Vitamins and Protein but i also have a problem with my thyroid and starting to think maybe that could be it, i was on medicine for it but my surgeon took me off it but is this normal?? has anyone else has had this problem?

  3. I am 11 days post op and I am having a hard time getting in 11oz of a Protein shake much less the Water, broth, etc, etc. I get nauseous and my tummy gets bloated and hurts like crazy if I eat more than 2 oz at a time. I had to buy some Protein "bullets" today to try and get in my protein quota =( I'm not sure how your tummy is handling this much, maybe you should call the doc and ask?

yeah its a bit strange how much sleeve is handling all this food.. but im gonna force myself not to overdo it :)

  4. Hi everyone i just gotten my sleeve on july 6th and so far today i have been ate 3 small bowls of chicken broth (not all at once) 3 sugar free popsicles, a mashed banana it was almost like baby food and now i just had me some fat free yogurt.. not too mention 2 protien shakes and alot of water.. i think im eating too much :( i just feel soo hungry idk if its just because im so use to eating or what but i really do miss regular foods :( i feel like eating a big chicken strip or something but i just gotta remember how bad i wanted this and i have been struggling with my weight for as long as i can remember...it all started with me having a problem with my thyroid but yeah so am i eating to much in 1 day? i wish this was easier for me.

  6. Soooo i am now worried that i will have alot of excess skin after my sugery,, my mom just got off the phone with the doctor cause she wanted to ask them a couple of questions and excess skin was one of them, the doctor said that insurance may not pay for surgery to get rid of it and i currently have alot of it specially on my arms.. but im also still young i just turned 22 so im thinking maybe i wont have exsess skin after words but anyways my question is has anyone around my age have had surgery to get rid of excess skin and did theyre insurance pay for it? i am very excited and looking forward to having the sleeve but now im just worried about the skin hanging :(
