Wow.... I'm looking forward to having sex for the first time in a long time! Lol! I've been too uncomfortable for about a year or so now. Poor hubby.....
Anyhoo..... has anyone read 50 Shades of Grey? If not, you need to! I'm reading it now....
I am addicted!!!
I started book 1 before my surgery and didn't pick it up for a few days but I finished it on Monday and started book 2! I finished book 2 today and started book 3!! WOW!!! Every woman needs to read these books! (and every man needs to take notes)
just sayin'

I have only taken two showers since my surgery on Wed. but both times I have noticed quite a bit of hair falling out each time. More than normal for me.
Anyone else have this? Does it quit?!!

It was exactly 21 days from my initial consolation to my surgery. But I was self pay so I didnt have to wait for approval.

Banded Thursday and in soo much pain. Didn't get home until about 9pm that day because I was so nauseous' date=' luckily that has mostly subsided. But I am having a hard time making myself even drink all my fluids. By the time I take my pain meds I feel full. How much liquids were you getting down the first few days? Also how much walking did you do on days 1,2,3...I am trying to get up and take several strolls around the house when I am awake but honestly I have been asleep mostly around the clock.[/quote']The first two days I only for down about a half a bottle of Water and a few sips of chicken broth. I felt so full and bloated the whole time. I also slept most of the day and just strolled around the house in between naps. On day 3 I only took one nap. I had about 1/4 broth, 1/4 cup Protein, and 2 popsicles. I felt most alive that day. Today is my day 4 so we shall see how this one goes.

No fills yet....get.first.fill July 16...I know many may.say ten pds.is good...but I thought the first month u lose the most 15 to 20 pounds?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using LapBandTalk
I think you are doing pretty good. You still have 2 more weeks to loose before your fill so you will probably be at 15 to 20 for your first month. You are half way there!

What kind of goals are everyone setting for themselves? My first goal is Onderland! It's not that far away now. I'm hoping to meet it by my first fill on August 1. When I get to 190 I have a reall cute outfit I haven't worn in 6 six years that I'd like to wear before summer is over as hopefully next year it'll be WAY too big!
My first goal is to reach 244 by the end of August. That was my lowest weight when I lost weight last summer. That was probably my lowest weight since getting out of high school.

I am banded!
I feel like hell. The gas pain reaches from one sholder to another and makes it hard to breathe.

How many days after surgery do you think it took to feel back to "normal"?
-
I had my appointment at the end of May and had a pulmonary function test, EKG, and blood work done. A psych eval and a few weeks later an EGD. My surgery is tomorrow so it took about a month for everything including insurance approval.
What time do you have surgery tomorrow?
-
Best of luck on your journey!
-
I had my inital consulatation on the 6th of June. That day I had my breath test (can't remember the name) and EKG done. I also had my blood taken. I had one more appoitment on the 12th with my Doc and I am having my surgery in the MORNING!!
I am self pay and and it has all happened very quick.

I'm having surgery tomorrow too! So excited!
Tomorrow is the day! Can't believe it is finally here. I hope everyone that was badned this week is recovering well.
Me too and I am freaking out!!!
-
I love reading all of these stories. Seems almost every in June is done. I still have one whole day to go before I am banded!
One very long day.
On a side note I have to go out of town on my day 10 so I hope I am almost to 100% by then too!
-
When you PB does it do it all by itself? Or do you have to make your self burp? (I don't know how to do that)
I am gettig banded on Wed. I am sure at some point or another I will have this happen.
-
Thanks for the replies! I will have both ready to go and just see what works best for me.
-
I don't go back to work until August (teacher) so I hope I won't be resting too much! A few days and then need to get moving again.
-
I have had some people say they used a heating pad after surgery and another tell me she had an ice pack on her stomach for a few days after.
What worked for you?
I am being banded on Wed!!!!!

This was my first surgery EVER! And it was a breeze!!!! It's like a quick nap! My only complaint w the operation would be the nurse that helped me wake up and get dressed post op. she was very rough and very rude. I had never been put under so I was very out of it! Other than that everything was great!!! Good luck! The best is yet to come!
I hope I can write something like this after my surgery next week!
What was your pre-op diet like?

Chest, shoulder, and arm pain post-op anyone?
I had surgery this morning and am so crazy uncomfortable from the gas pockets in my chest cavity...
Is it like any pain you have felt before or something new?

Don't forget GasX strips, Miralax and sugar free Popsicles for your first two days (from other people's posts). Yes I'm also stocked up on thin liquids for the first two weeks. I'm going to use Atkins shakes too. I love them! Oh I almost forgot, several people recommend using a heating pad for first few days.
I also have the gasx and popsicles. I like the atkins shakes, eas carbcontrol shakes, and I am a huge fan of Shakeolgy (but it costs $99 for a bag)
