  1. Honestly if you can't handle the saggy titties & saggy skin maybe you shouldn't have gotten the WLS. Here is my theory' date=' I mean go ahead if you want but people part of this road of losing weight you are suppose to learn how to love yourself! How is that loving yourself if you keep losing weight and keep wanting other procedures? What's after a Tummy Tuck and breasts? A face lift? Arm lift? Thigh lift? People be happy that you are finally healthy and those around you love you for who you are..[/quote']

I think this is an unfair comment, You can love yourself but still want to improve it. What's wrong with plastic surgery if it improves ones self esteem. Ive heard this statement from friends when I got my breasts done, I knew she wanted to have hers done but couldn't afford it, she then put me down for it.

Did you have wls or are you just commenting on others?

  2. Hey my lovies! Okay so ... I am going to be creating the new list shortly. But, in the mean time...if you have Facebook (which you should!) I have created a group for us on there.

    http://www.facebook.com/groups/486344818061300/

There is the link. Some of you i dont know by name but if you wish to be invited add me and I can invite you to the group. I figured that might be easier for some of us to communicate and we can have live chats there. I can also create events and give shout outs to the new sleevers as we go through the process. We can share photos and stuff as well. I have it set to "secret" so no one can see what you post or even that you joined the group. (In case anyones surgery is secret) Hopefully that link works.

  3. Hey Lisa' date='

Just wondering if your PCP is supporting you in your journey to MX. Mine has decided to no longer support me. She was all for it until I got the date and now she is setting up road blocks. I am thinking of getting a new doctor. How has your experience been?[/quote']

My doctor was a little unsure, but she's still supportive as she knows I'm going to do it anyway. She was more worried about the level of care they provide(experience) as opposed to the sleeve itself. She hasn't had a lot of experience with the sleeve

  4. Hi Lisa ! I can totally relate to you . I started adipex ( phentermine ) at 200 lbs two years ago. Lost 30 pounds in 30 days. So easy ' date=' I couldn't believe it ! Well... my blood pressure was high from the medication and I had to stop. Gained back 45 Pounds in two months . I then went back to phentermine and the weight didn't come off quite so easily that time , but I Lost another 30 , and of course gained it back. The same cycle went on for another year and lead me to now being 260 lbs. it is so hard for me to lose weight now. I think losing weight from medication really messes up your system .

Anyway, sorry for the long story ! Just wanted to say welcome and got pretty side tracked :) ! I think it is great that you are doing something more permanent to help yourself now rather than waiting until you are 250+ lbs . pills are NOT the answer ( in most cases, in my opinion ) to permanent weight loss. My surgery date is August 6th 2012. I hope everything goes great in your surgery planning ![/quote']

    Thanks so much sleevealicious.

Yes pills are not the answer. My doc put me on topamax and we discovered the fast weightloss, it killed my appetite I had to remember to eat and I felt very full fast. I didn't constantly eat as my stomach wouldn't allow it. However my mind became very stupid, I couldn't remember words, I looked dumb and that forced to me give it up as I'd find my self somewhere after driving and have no idea how I got there

  5. Dr Joya was my first choice! But after more thought, I went with Dr Kelly because he is closer for me to access. Even Dr Kelly said Joya was a fine surgeon, and that they are old friends. Im glad some ppl are going there too!

Hi Sandy, I am so glad to hear that about Dr.Joya as you stated most here go to Tijuana. He is more expensive then Tijuana but closer and more convenient for me travel wise as my husband and my two stepsons are coming and staying at a resort

  6. So great to hear the lower BMI's. I felt very alone, I am self paying in Mexico and m so excited. I also haven't told many as I don't want the negative attitudes(my mom told me I was taking the cheaters way out),she's supportive now but initial reaction hurt. I'm afraid to tell my best friend as she has lost a ton of weight and I don't want to diminish her loss(very proud of her). I'll tell her later after I'm done so I can give her time to thoroughly enjoy her success.

    My BMI is 31-32, I'm 5'5 and weigh 192.

I can't wait to get my life back.

  7. Thank you for the support.

I'd like to say I was only a size 2 for a few years, from childhood to age 25 I was always a big girl 180 lbs often called pork chop legs etc. It's devastating for me as I got a taste of what small feels like and losing it is crushing. I've done terrible things to my body such as the eca stack, topamax etc. I was on topamax for stress and I lost 60 lbs( I also ate low fat and exercised) but the medication I became stupid, i couldn't remember anything on topamax and couldn't function at work. I then had a ton of stress at work and of course food became I comfort. The hardest thing for me is knowing what it feels like to be small but being unable to get back there. I avoid seeing people I haven't seen since I was small as I feel so ashamed of my weight gain.

Ive joined this board to learn a new way of life as my surgery is august 17th and regain my confidence.
