  1. Oh boy...why does everything on here turn into a fight lately? I understand wanting help OP and I think you got some great advise so far, but with due respect please chill out. Topics are going to veer off course from time to time (just look at the cheeseburger thread for proof lol) no need to be so short about it- it's not like no one was answering your question. It's the nature of having discussions. Anyway I'm out of here before the fur begins to fly...
  2. I was cleared for bread a month out. Was told to stick to wheat bread and toast it so it isn't so dense. I didn't try bread until about 2 months PO though. I am one of the few who really don't have an issue with bread. It does sit heavier then other foods but it is doable for me. Though I very rarely have it these days. I doubt you'll be able to eat a whole PB&J sandwich post op but maybe a half anyway.
  3. About 5 weeks out I was out Chistmas shopping with no food and stopped into Burger King and did just that. Grilled chicken snack wrap, tossed the wrap and just ate the chicken, cheese and lettuce. I was fine and it was filling. Don't recommend doing it on the regular but once in a while its fine.
  4. Oh and I used old fashioned oats but I think quick oats would be okay too.
  5. Sorry I didn't see the replies before! The serving size is 1 cookie. The texture isn't quite like a cookie, it's more soft on the inside. Not very sweet so add some sweetener if you want it sweet. This would be great with some peanutbutter added and chocolate Protein powder! Yumm! Gonna try to post the calorie info again
  6. I had this several weeks post op. I had horrible constipation. The worst of my life actually. So bad I was crying. And I see lots of bright red blood. It was definitely hemeroids. As said bright red blood is usually hemeroids. The straining will rupture them. I was so scared but it turned out okay but still keep an eye on it and maybe bring it up to your dr.
  7. I am the queen of wide calfs. Even wide calf boots aren't wide enough. My right calf (which strangely is slightly larger) was a whopping 23 inches at my biggest. I've lost 71lbs now and I'm already down 2 inches in my calves! So happy about this! Intact the only boots I have that had for me for a long time (from Torrid, with an elastic panel on them that I completely stretched out way beyond what I should have) those are really big on me now and fall down my leg! So you will definitely lose in your calf!
  8. I had a 4 1/2 hour bus rise 2 weeks post op and I was alright. Pain wise I was fine. I would suggest getting up and going to the bathroom every few hours just to keep moving, but I think it's doable. At 2 weeks out 95 percent of my pain was gone, I still had a bit of soreness to the touch but that was it. I think you should be okay just take it easy!
  9. Thanks all! I'm a sushi addict. I do allow myself to eat it out but really had a craving tonight and wanted something lighter so came up with this lol
  10. Well okay it's not exactly sushi but definitely satisfied my craving for it! I bought these mini nori sheets recently- they had a roasted flavor very yummy and that's when I came up with this idea. I made riceless California rolls Imitation crab meat Nori Sliced avacado Julliened cucumber Layed it all out on top of the nori like an open faced sushi and voila! I ate 2 of these guys with a little soy sauce
  11. HW 379 SW 359 LW 311 TW 308 -3 V Day goal 306 Last week I lost 5, this week 3. I'm really happy with this since I stalled a lot around the holidays! Whoohoo 2 more pounds! I'm so gonna crush this goal!!! May revise to 299! That would be a huge deal for me!
  12. Beef jerkey and turkey jerkey- I eat that a lot. Deli ham or turkey rolls- with cheese. I do those a lot for a quick snack or even lunch. And diet hot cocoa with Torini SF syrup. You get protein from the milk and its YUMMY!
  13. Thanks guys! Well I guess it's back to shakes for me lol. I wanted to try to do it with food but seeing it isn't feasible yet, and I do want to maximize my weight loss at this stage!
  14. Thanks everyone keeps talking about those but I don't have a Sams or Cosco by me I buy something very similar from GNC- ready to drink carb control shakes and they are 25 grams of protein and very good. I don't drink them every day though and I'm trying to get my protein from real food. Maybe I need to go back to shakes every day :sigh:
  15. I'm a little over 2 months out. I aim for 600-800 calories a day. Some days I've gone up to 1,000. I find that on days when I'm in the 600-800 calorie range I have a hard time getting in all my Protein. Even though I do stick to protein dense foods most of the time (chicken, fish, string cheese, eggs) I feel like its a struggle to get over 60 grams because I'm eating relatively small amounts of the foods. Any suggestions for upping protein with out upping calories. I don't drink shakes every day though I do sometimes for Breakfast, but really trying to get the protein from real foods at this point. Any advise?
  16. The skinnylicious menu is really good! I went recently and got the lettuce wraps and the samosas (maybe not the best choice but we shared) and it was all great! I've heard the tuna ahi is great too!
  17. I've lost about 70lbs also and while I do feel physically better (I was almost immobile at my biggest) I don't really know if I feel any better. Granted I'm still a big girl. Our minds take a whole to catch up in situations like this. When you live life as a big person for so long all of a sudden you don't just see yourself as a regular person. I still get scared when I hear I have to walk somewhere but them remember I actually CAN walk now. It's like my brain isn't quite there yet. Takes time!
  18. That's why you have to be diligent with sipping sipping sipping Water through out the day so you don't get dehydrated and feel that extreme thirst. I've always been someone who for very thirsty and chugged my water. Oddly enough I'm one of those people who actually could chug water post op. At about 2 weeks post op is when I realized this when out of habit i did it by accident and didn't have a problem. I was nervous at first but my surgeon said it was okay, but I know others still can't months post op. So I'm an anomaly apparently lol. When I say chug I don't mean a while bottle (I wish lol) more like 3 or 4 chugs but still that's a lot from what I've been told. You'll be okay as long as you stay hydrated. Days I don't get enough water in from an early hour is when I have that bad thirsty feeling, days when I start sipping water early I don't have the desire to chug.
  19. You have to go a little lighter on knees and elbows and wash your hands well after applying but I haven't had any really bad issues with it on those body parts.
  20. I love Jergins natural glow lotion. I use to use it quite a bit. It's great! If your naturally very pale like myself the natural glow is awesome because it gives the perfect balance of not looking ghostly white but also not looking like you visited the sun LOL. It gave me a very natural looking tan that was subtle but perfect for my skin tone. After applying it every day for like 3 days I noticed a big difference- but I'm also extremely pale lol. I highly recommend!
  21. I love yours posts Cheri! Excellent post here! Had i known you were postings as I was typing my reply I would have wrote a lot less haha
  22. I've seen a lot of the negativity and harshness around here talked about for a while. I didn't see it at first, but I see it now. Yikes! We all have a different path and journey. What works for some may not work for others. This is a lifestyle not a diet for me. Having said that I think that means different things for different people. For me it means make good choice but also don't deprive myself. But I don't impose that on anyone. The goal is to be able to live a normal life like a normal person with healthy eating habits who can live in society. That means eating Protein like chicken, sea food, steak...and veggies and salads most of the time. I don't totally ignoring a food group like carbs. Not all carbs are bad and normal healthy people don't totally ex them out of their diet. I stick with good carbs most of the time, and If I want some roasted red potatoes well damn it I'm going to make them! That means every now and then things like fast food and desert are going to be eaten by me. I had cake on my birthday, I ate a few pork dumplings from a thia restaurant. I had a few bites of a biscuit. And you know what? I don't feel bad for these choices. Because for ME this worked. Moderation. Something I didn't know before. Pre op I didn't have healthy eating habits. I could never just have ONE cookie. If I had fast food I had the large meal with the fries. One bite didn't exist in my vocabulary. I didn't know how to leave food on my plate. Now I feel I've found a balance. I DO however get this doesn't work for everyone. People have food addictions. Certain foods can trigger binge eating- even with a sleeve. Some choose to stay as far away from these foods as they can never to include them in their diet again. Which is commendable and I applaud you all for it because I don't think I have the power to say 'never again'. Thats amazing and truly commendable! I don't think the problem people have on here is with anyone choosing to not participate in eating these foods. As I've said different journey for all of us. The problem is the way people who DO eat them and admit to it are treated and called out. No one should be belittled, scolded or called a name for their choices on either end. This is directed at no one in particular, but I've seen it in several threads. No one should be afraid to ask a question or share their input in fear of being called a name or made to feel inferior. If someone is posting things like 'I'm eating cake and Cookies, why am I not losing weight?' Well yes I can see how that would warrant comment. But even then there is no need for snark, rudeness or name calling. People, especially new people see this and become afraid to say anything for fear of getting their head bitten off. This was longer then I meant it to be, but the point is that this is a different journey for everyone. Some are more strict, some more liberal. But everyone deserves respect and to allow their experiences to be heard. This goes for both sides- left and right wing that's my two cents (this was probably more like a quarter though then 2 two cants though lol)
  23. I'm 2 months post op. I try to stay in the 600-800 calorie range. Some days I go higher 900-1000 it depends on my hunger level. I do feel hunger now, I didn't the first month or so but it retuned though its not like it was pre op. I try to keep it low carb but I'm not struck in carb count honestly. I look at my total for the day and try to keep it under 50 but If I go over as long as I was eating things that were nutritional I don't freak out. Typical day for me B 1 egg, shredded cheese and spinach S turkey jerkey stick L left over Protein of some kind- chicken and a veggie maybe S cheese stick and hummus D ground turkey and white Beans with kale S diet hot cocoa and SF raspberry syrup I'm still losing regularly even though some times my calories are higher. I lost 5lbs this last week- usually ill lose 2-5 so I think it's good and really depends on the type of foods you eat.
