  1. Thanks pink! I don't know what I'll do when I finally get my date, probably run around screaming like a crazy person! LOL! I've been through the process for WLS before but never got all the way and gotten a date- something always happened so I think when I actually have a date it will make it REAL this time. Good luck to you on your surgery! Yay that's only a short time away!
  2. Thanks for this post! As a pre op it's helpful though I admit slightly scary. I have mediumish hair and it's curly so I'm a little scared to see how much I loose. My hair already sheds quite a bit since I've bleached it on and off for a few years and it's damaged as all heck. Hopefully it all doesn't give up on me and I don't have to wind up pulling a Brittney lol
  3. I'll be sleeved in October. I get my date next month- can't wait!!
  4. Also seen it on cucumber slices but not sure If you're far enough out for raw veggies.
  5. Amazing job so far! Crossing my fingers for similar success!
  6. Looks like you'll have some company in Tonga sr since that's where I belong too apparently lol. That's apparently the most obese place to be in the nation- surpassing even the US. That's a scary thought that this thing is saying it's where I belong!
  7. I'm up in The Bronx and having it in Jacobi Hospital in October (Get my date next month) good luck and if you ever need a local buddy feel free to reach out!
  8. Lmao so true! I thought that when I made mine. She had space between her legs at 300+lbs- I WISH LOL! The model may have increased with size when the weight was higher but the shape wasn't really right at least not to my body. A roll button would have made it much more realistic! Haha
  9. Just wanted to say I'm in NYC too. Where are you having your surgery? Good luck to you. Hope things move fast!
  10. Question about Syntrax Matrix. I've heard mixed things about it being that it's not straight whey isolate but a mix and we are suppose to have just whey isolate. Any input on that? I've yet to try the matrix but I've heard mint cookie and cookies and cream are delicious and I really want to buy some but I've been unsure because it's not straight isolate.
  11. NDN thanks so much for this info! I'm in NYC and this is a great affordable attainable option for me that I'll look into. In curious though, sine their specialties are facial do they do a lot of body work? Thanks so much for this tip!
  12. I'm still in the process but what I've had to do/have to do: Ultrasound Endoscopy Nutritionist weigh ins for 3 months Sleep study Pulmonary eval Surgery clearance (blood work, EKG) Psych eval I'll be finished with everything next month and should get a date for October!
  13. My first sleep study wasn't bad. But I also made sure I was exhausted the day of it so I fell asleep fast. I deliberately got like no sleep before so I could sleep lol. Part 2 however with the CPAP was HELL. I have the CPAP now at home and it's not as bad, the face mask they gave me made so so claustrophobic. And my sleep tech was a rude jerk- truly awful night. I hope your experience is better!! Good luck!
  14. I'm pre sleeeve ( will be sleeved in October) and in NYC. If either or you want to be buddies let me know
  15. I'm not quite sure I'll ever get to 'skinny' but I'd be fine being a curvy biatch over a super morbidly obese biatch
  16. MIO actually makes a sweet tea flavor which is pretty good! I know people are divided over MIO an wheather it's good for you but I think in moderation it's fine.
  17. I have a high BMI (62) and this was one of my main concerns too having around 200lbs to loose. I'm still pre op, but I have seen people with BMI's like ours do really well. There are a few on here, also check on OH there is a special board for people with a BMI over 50 that is helpful. It can be done from what I'm seeing. I still have fears, and get apprehensive I won't reach goal, that I will never be a normal weight, but I think the surgery is what you make of it. I don't think there is a weight loss cap for any of the surgeries, just may take folks like us longer to get to the finish line. We're not going to get there in 6 months or even a year. And worst case scenario the sleeve can always be converted into a DS or RNY if need be.
  18. Yay seems like my issues are fixed too! All my subscribed threads are showing again!! But does this mean we can now say the words night and spicy? Lol EDIT: YUP we can! Haha glad it's all fixed!
  19. Wow you look awesome! Amazing accomplishment in just 3 months!
  20. Oh gosh say it isn't so :cries: Between my over inflatting my height, actual heigh loss an potential loss I'll go from 5'7 to 5'3! Well I better get skinny so I can get me a pair of 5 inch heels!!
  21. Like a few others have said- it wasn't a number but how i was feeling. Heck I was in denial and hadn't been on a scale in more then a year so I didn't even KNOW what I weighed. Last year I had a knee injury that forced me to be bed ridden for months. I was depressed so I ate. I knew I gained weight I just didn't know how much. I was already about 340-350 when I injured myself. I felt heavier then ever I noticed in the shower- my butt had gotten a lot bigger and there was a lot more to wash (tmi perhaps) but little things like that made me see. Also my shoes were TIGHT shoes I had worn with ease months before. Still I didn't do anything. When I finally went to my consult this June I stepped on the scale and was almost 380lbs. I wanted to cry- and I'm sure at one point I was closer to 400 because i had already began eating less and a few people told me I looked like i had lost some weight. Who knows what my heighest weight really was. This was SCARY to me. There is something terrifying about 400lbs. I'm more convinced then ever this is the right move for me!
  22. Anyone else been having problems with the app? Or the site in general even? The app won't show my subscribed threads and I'm not getting email notifications for a lot of threads im subscribed to. I went back to look at 'all posts' so I could follow my posts that way and can't see any of my recent ones (this is in the app- not sure about the full site) Hopefully they are glitches that will be worked out? Anyone else having issues?
  23. For heaven's sake the word s p i c e is blocked out too!! I just saw in another post and was trying to figure out what was being said! A bit much!
  24. I hope I look younger. I've been told recently I have a baby face, but I always felt my weight aged me. It was awesome when I was a teen- people always thought I was at least 20, I would get away with being able to drink when i was underage (I know, I know...BAD me!) but now that I'm approaching my mid 20's (scary thought!) I feel like it's not such a good thing and may be making me look older then I am which isn't something I want anymore lol. So I'll happily take people carding me for PG movies some day!
