  1. Yay congrats!! I just got approved yesterday so I know how big of a deal that is. Congrats!
  2. You're doing awesome! There is a huge difference. Keep up the great work!
  3. YAY congrats!! I know just how you feel, I just found out I got approved today and I'm still in shock lol
  4. Sending good thoughts your way! I know how nerve wrecking this whole process is, my nerves are officially shot lol, but you're SO close to the end of it all! I was given an approximate surgery date that fell through- twice- and then finally a tentative date before I had insurance approval which I was scared wouldn't happen in enough time (Did and I was just approved today!)....so I totally get all the emotions, and yo yoing a person goes through. Fingers crossed you get your date very soon!
  5. I have some of the same fears. Part of me is afraid to be a thin person because I don't think I know 'how' to be. I've been a big girl pretty much my whole life. Ive heard people say that your treated differently when your thin also-nicer- and I guess it remains to be seen. I've never felt like people have treated me bad because of my size though. I do get the occasional once over, and sometimes size discrimination us inevitable when you're 300+lbs, but for the most part it wasn't bad. So I guess I'll see. Something that was strange to me, one of my best friends who is also big (though I have about 100lbs on her) but she told me she hoped I didn't 'change' after surgery and losing weight. I asked what she meant and she said 'I hope you don't become a b$&@!' I think that shocked me a little. Part of me is like what is she crazy? I'm going to be the same person I always was! But part of me knows I WILL in some ways change. Hopefully in the right ways. I know I'm rambling lol, but as surgery gets closer these fears creep in more and more. I've always had a fear of the unknown, and being thin is definitly unknown territory to me lol.
  6. Thank you!! Congrats and good luck to you! I wasn't required a pre op diet, but I'm going to do protein shakes and 1 meal 3 days leading up to surgery. I've already lost 20lbs on my own so maybe I can knock another 5 off lol. Just want to make sure my liver is nice and shrunken lol
  7. Thanks guys! I have Healthfirst NY
  8. Omg I was approved!!! Surgery is in one week on the 14th!! I was so scared because they Waited until the week before to submit and I can't believe they approved me- especially in one day! OMG this is really happening!!! The nerves are sinking in!
  9. OMG guys I'm actually approved!!! I can't believe it, I'm almost in a state of shock. It like this is REALLY happenig now! Surgery is one week from today and I was so afraid because they didn't submit to instance until yesterday that approval (or denial which I was preparing for) wouldn't come back in time. Everyone in the surgeons office, including the surgeon was unsure if I would get approved because I was told my insurance is very tough to approve but THEY DID!! I'm in a state of utter shock but SOO excited! Now nerves are starting to hit me though ahhh! Thank you to everyone on here who has offerenee me advise, support or a kind word! ONE WEEK!!
  10. Me too! In the 14th also! I'm freaking out a little bit lol. We're sleeve sisters so be sure to stay in touch!
  11. I'm a recent almond milk convert myself and I love it! I buy unsweetened and vanilla (when I want a little treat) so yummy! I use it in all my cooking in place of milk, and it in protein shakes and it came out fine, but yet to use it in pudding- I was actually just wondering if you could use it to make pudding and If it would work.
  12. Ouch! Are there any risks with it being permanent now?
  13. Well good news for me I had my pre op today and saw the surgeon and he said I didn't need an IVC filter so yay for that! I was preparing myself for it and turns out I didn't need it anyway whoohoo!
  14. I'm scared to try the isopure after everyone called it isopuke lol Oh and I tried the strawberry sorbet this morning with almond milk and it was yummy! Im starting to see that I like the milk based ones better then the ones with water hmm.
  15. Good luck! Were submitting tomorrow- so nervous! And going to do my civic duty in a little while and go out there and vote! At least we'll get the answer to one of these soon lol
  16. This is fun! I'm generation Y. Born in 1989, so I'm a 90's kid. Its funny because when I was growing up I always wanted to have grown up during the 80's but now looking back I loved the 90's (but doesn't everyone love their decade? lol) 90's Nickelodeon was 'the bomb' haha. Snick, Are you Afraid of the dark, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple (I ALWAYS wanted to be on that show. Long live the Purple Parrots!) GUTS, Keenan and Kel, Doug, Ren and Stimpy, The Amanda Show, All that...as you can see I watched too much TV lol.- These days I'm all about True Blood, The Walking Dead, Grimm, American Horror Story (I love scary shows lol) Girls Music- NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Britney and Christina- yeah...I know. lol I was all about the typical pop music. Favorite movies growing up- Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown (And many other Disney TV movies) It takes two, Clueless, She's all that, Legally Blonde (not quite 90's but almost) Other random memories that bring me back- Furbies, Tomagachi's, I remember everyone a few years older then me had a beeper and I wanted one but was too young lol, Y2K scare- I remeber being a little kid and putting Water in empty soda bottles incase of the crash lol. Goosebumps on Saturday mornings, Lisa Frank school supplies... I could reminise all day, I miss being a kid!
  17. Lol thats how I feel, I hate to waste. I HATED the crystal sky but drank it anyway lol. I had it for breakfast the other day and I threw it in a blender bottle and ran out the door not even bothering to taste. When I got on the bus I took a sip and BLEH, made the worst face. People must have wondered what the heck I was drinking lol
  18. Gee I can't wait to try apple now! Haha just kidding lol, but I'll try it anyways- I might as well use it since I have the sample lol
  19. I made a mental 'gotta eat this before surgery' list but haven't had most of it honestly. I've been really focused on eating healthy and have managed to lose 20lbs pre op. I did have a few splurge days- olive garden, all you can eat sushi (my fav thing ever is sushi!) but thank goodness I didn't go crazy with last meal syndrome. I still really want to have a piece of banana cake from my favorite bakery, though I'm not sure if that will happen because they might still be having issues because of the hurrcaine but if not I'll be okay lol. Oh and btw I LOVE coffee milk. An old friend of mine from RI introduced me to it years ago and I fell in love! I wish they would make sugar free coffee syrup! Lol
  20. I know this is a very old thread lol but these look awesome! Can't wait to try them!
  21. I haven't tried them all yet but so far I really like the vanilla bean torte and the twisted cherry the best. The cookie was pretty good too, the chocolate was just okay to me and I didn't like the crystal sky at all. Eager to try the lemon and cappachino next!
  22. - I confess that I have my pre op appointment on Tuesday and I'm terrified because we have yet to submit for insurance approval and I'm almost expecting to not have surgery at this point. - I confess I wish I could just focus on normal pre surgery jitters instead of the fear that Ive come this far to not even be able to have surgery. - I confess if things DO go as planned and I'm able to go through with surgery on the 14th, I'm scared I won't have enough time to mentally prepare myself. - I confess that I'm nervous for surgery. I think my insurance nerves have overshadowed my pre surgery nerves, but they are there. And they are getting larger. - I confess I gained a pound and I'm trying to get it off before my pre op appointment.
  23. I'm pre op and have gallstones as well. They told me it wasn't a cause for concern yet since I haven't had any really attacks, but after surgery there is a high possibility that I may need it out. I think I have had some mild discomfort from it but I never knew it was gallbladder pain, but after finding out about the stones I looked up symptoms and realized I have had some of them. So we'll see what happens, but there is a good chance if you have gallstones pre op it will worsen after weight loss surgery (since extreme weight loss and high protein diets are two things that can lead to stones)
