    Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes

I like the chocolate vanilla and cherry ones. I haven't really loved any of the other flavors honestly. I bought the sample pack pre op (5 mont post op now) and i still have a few sample packs left to try but was scared because i hated some of them lol. I hated the Crystal Sky and the Apple Extacy. The apple tasted like chewed up apple stems to me. Not good. The fuzzy navel was just okay. I really wanted to love the fruit flavors but just don't

    Outer thigh numbness

This happened to me also. I had numbness in one of my thighs after surgery which was definitely due to all the laying on my back. My tail bone area hurt SO much. Its been 5 months and I still don't have feeling back in that spot unfortunately. Hoping it returns eventually!

    Did You Make a Wig?

Not all but most people lose some. I mostly lose when I'm in the shower or when brushing, but it's not like most people can notice I'm losing. I have some thin spots more then others but hide them with how I part my hair. You won't go totally bald lol

    Did You Make a Wig?

I'm 4 months out and the hair loss for me has started. My hair was already in bad condition thanks to too much bleaching over the past few years so it already has a ton on split ends. I just chopped it all off yesterday. It's like right above my shoulders, just got tired of all the shedding and split ends so I said screw or! Sure hope it comes back and hopefully it will come back healthier. Thinking of getting some extentions. I second donating your hair to locks for love. My hair was in no condition to be donated lol. If you want to get a wig later on may be something to look in to but making it from your own hair would be a big hassle.

    Bra size

I'm down about 90lbs and my boobs have always been small. For someone 380lbs my boobs were tiny lol. I was a 46 C though I wore D bras but my actual cup since was a C. Now I definitely notice volume loss in the actual breast and its more skin then full tissue. Part of my boob feels almost like tissue paper skin. It's weird, especially when pushed up in a push up bra it feels all strange I can't explain it lol. I'm in some of the same bras but only because I was smushed into them before. My best fitting bra is a 42 C, though my cup is definitely more on the B side. I'm pretty sure if I ever get to goal ill be and A cup lol

    Ethnic foods

Not sure what you consider ethnic but I've had Mexican, Chinese, Thia, Italian, Japanese and Puerto Rican food since surgery and not a problem. I'm 4 months out now. You should be fine, everything in moderation. The only thing I can see being an issue potentially would be very spicy foods and not being able to drink (that would be an issue for me anyway) I've even been okay with rice and pasta in small amounts.

    Work out weight gain?

Hi all. I'm 2 and a half months out. I just started really working out. I started trying to do C25K. I'm still pretty big and also out of shape so it's taken me a while to working up to complete even day one. I've done it 3 times this week as well as a 'boot camp' style workout with my best friend one night. I've also been walking in between and doing some floor exercises at home every morning (crunches, jumping jacks etc) Anyway I noticed my weight hasn't moved this week since starting all this. Intact it's gone up. I was 305 last week and now I'm 307. Is this normal? I've been going pretty hard at this, I'm pretty sore and swollen so maybe it's Water weight? Any input much appreciated!

    Zombie Apocalypse… with sleeve?

I guess I'm not the only one who watches too much walking dead haha Post op I think we all have a better chance of surviving. My pre op self so would have gotten eaten first lol. I think the sleeve is a good post apocalypse choice over RNY or the band- less chance of Vitamin deficiencies, no maintenance like with the band. I think we're good!
  12. 299.8 this morning!! So happy to FINALLY see twoterville!! YAY! Officially 80lbs down!

Does walking get easier after the sleeve?

Absolutly. At my heaviest (over 380lbs) I had so much pain. I could hardly walk a block with out pain in my legs. I also have very bad knees and the pain was horrible. Living in NYC and not being able to walk, as you can imagine was horrible. I couldn't live life. Fast forward to now, down 78lbs and I sprint down the block in record time. I'm able to climb subway stairs with ease. I can live life again. I do still have knee pain because I just have bad knees in general but it's night and day compared to where I was. So yes it has improved my pain a million percent!

    do u eat corn

I've had corn post op and it was fine. It's a carby veggie so you shouldn't really eat it all the time if your trying for low carb, I think that's probably where the warning to stay away comes from. But I've eaten it and was fine!

    cold cereal?

I've heard some people say cereal is a no go for them because basically it's the equiviliant for eating and drinking at the same time. I have cereal every now and then and haven't had an issue though.

help for a college student in texas

Most insurances require you wait 6 month and do a supervised diet, not just Medicaid. Just a heads up because Atena may make you wait also.

    Inner Thighs - Ick!

Wow you learn something new all the time! Pretty sure I have both of these conditions. I have knots that form under my armpits pretty regularly that hurt sometimes and if squeezed contain puss. And the darkening between my thigh has always bugged me. I tend to get pimples there too very often. The raising of the skin- especially on the back of my neck has been there since I was a pre teen. I found out a while ago that was caused from insulin resistance so it's interesting to read more on this here. The darkening of the skin also has always existed under my arms and my neck also. Growing up my mom would assume it was dirt and make me scrub till I was raw. I felt so bad about myself. It's refreshing to read these things are common!

    Work out weight gain?

It's a few weeks since this post and I'm happy to report I'm down to 301 I think my body was just in a stall mode, I rode it out and I'm losing again, though the 300's are hanging on for dear life lol. 2lbs to go! Tinesha good luck to you! The scale will move again for you, it did for me! Just keep at it!

    DEPRESSED!

Hi there welcome! Congrats on your weight loss so far! Though I'm a bit concerned by your calorie in take. Staying under 600 calories a day, especially at over 5 months out seems low to me. Did your NUT tell you to stay under 600? The number I see aimed for during the weight loss stage is usually 600-800 a day. Your body could be in starvation mode taking in under 600 calories a day. Now that your a little further out try bumping them up a bit. Good luck!
  22. Down to 301, the 200's sure are making me work for it lol. Down 78lbs all together and feeling great! :)

  23. I'm Italian. Pasta was my vice pre op. I ate it at least 3 times a week, any way you can imagine. Post op I've made it once. I switched to whole wheat pasta about 7 years ago and now I don't even miss the other stuff, so if you DO indulge in pasta I suggest whole wheat. I've been lucky enough to tolerate everything I've eaten, even rice and pasta, but it does fill me up way faster. I say indulge on occasion, try whole wheat and be smart about it. Eat high Protein low carb all day on a day where you splurge on pasta for dinner and enjoy. I agree with Iggy, I didn't have surgery so I could never eat these things again. I know a lot of people stay away from these things in the WL stage, but for me- someone who had a very high starting weight- my WL stage is going to be much much longer then someone who had a small amount to lose and I just am not willing to put my life on hold until then. So indulge once in a while and be smart about your choices and you should be fine

    Numbness on my belly. Yuck!

I'm 3 months out and still an numb around my largest incision. I had Surgery on my knee 11 years ago and still don't have feeling back from that. I'm hoping eventually the feeling comes back in my tummy but I'm not expecting it lol
