  1. I had the same issue. I had complications and gained 13 pounds in the hospital because of the massive amounts of fluids they had to give me. I lost that and then started to retain fluid so I wasn't losing weight at all. They assured me that it was due to the complications and eventually I would start to lose. The doctor was right! Finally this week I started losing a lot. Still worried that it will stop but keeping my fingers crossed that all the complications are behind me! Best of luck!!!
  2. Yum! Sounds good! Enjoy...
  3. That's great news!!! I have to agree with you...I was doubting my doctor because my weight wasn't coming down. He kept telling me it was due to the complications after surgery but I didn't believe him....thought I was the only person that surgery didn't work for. Now, all of a sudden I am dropping weight like crazy!! Guess they know more than me!
  4. I'm the same way. Not really seeing my weight drop but I can tell in my clothes. I've been frustrated as well!
  5. Sending lots of prayers!!
  6. Right after the surgery I went into diabetic ketoacidosis. I don't remember anything for the first 36 hours and they tell me I'm lucky to be alive. I was in ICU for my entire hospital stay. But my insulin requirements have dropped and they expect them to drop more. I rarely take any fast acting (novalog) prior to meals anymore! Just take 36 units of levimer now. Just like you....down from 100 units or more!
  7. Waited two weeks. No problems at all!
  8. My blood sugars went up extremely high after surgery. I had to go on an insulin drip in the hospital. Stayed elevated for about the first week. I'm type 1 so I will always be on insulin. However, I'm in a normal range now and and usually only take my slow release insulin....rarely require any fast acting so it does get better!
  9. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
  10. They didn't delay mine and should have. My A1c was extremely high and it caused me to go into diabetic ketoacidosis. I was seriously close to not making it and was in ICU for 3 nights. I'm not trying to scare you but it is for the best. Hopefully they can make some changes to your insulin and you can have the surgery soon. Keeping you in my thoughts!
  11. I can have 2-4 ounces. Depends on what I'm eating. If it's tuna I can only handle 2 ounces but pureed chili I can eat 4. I'm also not losing. I'm seeing my surgeon today because I'm retaining lots of fluid. Hope he has some answers.
  12. I'm 3 weeks out and I have meltdowns often. My friends that have had the surgery tell me it is normal and will get better. Hang in there!
  13. Go to 'The World of Eggface' website. She has tons of meatless recipes. Search for 'meatless monday'. Hope that helps!
  14. Good luck! Saying a prayer for you!
  15. I eat pureed chili alot! So good!!!
  16. Once you start the pureed phase you will feel full. I was never hungry during the liquid phase but never full either.
  17. What have you tried?? I don't like how it looks either and I'm learning by trial and error what I can eat. Sometimes I can eat certain foods and they next time I try to eat it....can't even stand the smell. Today is the first time I actually got over 70 grams of protein.
  18. Surgery on Thursday....went home Sunday but I had complications. Not with the surgery but with diabetes.
  19. I only did it once. Throwing up, sweating and dizzy. It was over in about 30-45 minutes. But it came on very quick!!
  20. Never used anything I packed. The hospital even provided chapstick!!
  21. I never had any bleeding at all. A tiny bit of drainage, which they said was normal. I would definitely check with the doctor unless someone else says it's normal.
  22. So cute! Hope you guys have a great week!!!
  23. Please email to me. Tracy.mills07@gmail.com. Thanks!!!
  24. I never had any pain medicine at all. Honestly had no pain. I had some soreness when getting up but that went away in a few days. I know everyone is different but don't stress over the pain....even if you have any it will be over quick! Best of luck!
