    Heat Exhaustion?

I'm still tired but I haven't been outside yet! Lol. It's going to be another toasty 90+ day so I plan on staying inside as much as I can

    Eggs!

Lol. I don't really have a question or anything, but I thought it was funny that I was never really an egg person before surgery and now, almost 3 weeks out, I'm eating a scrambled egg and I LOVE IT!!!
  3. I'm only 2 weeks out, but from what I read about others stories, when time passes are we suppost to eat more calories to loose more weight and avoid the stall? Lol I'm confused
  4. Just to let you know, weight gain is caused by PCOS. Not the other way around.

    Let Me Get This Straight...

How long does the stall typically last?
  6. Right below my biggest incision site I am completely numb. It's not gettin better, in fact I think it might be getting worse. I am 2 weeks post op. Has anyone else has this??
  7. Hey everyone, So I'm just about 2 weeks post op and I have a have a bit of a problem. I was having a meal. Chicken broth lol. And not even realizing it, I found myself having about 8oz in a half hour period. I was full by the time I realized what I was doing, but not stuffed or nauseous. Why!?!? I thought we can only fit about 2 oz at a time. Another problem with me is that I always feel hungry. I seem to control myself well when it comes to hunger. I'll go for water or whatever, but my stomach hurts like I'm hungry. My md told me it was head hunger so how do I beat the head hunger? Help would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Wow this is great to know. I swear I learn more from you guys than I do my md and nut! Lol
  9. You guys are the best. It's awesome that question get answered soooo quickly on this site! I am taking an acid reducer so that isn't helping. And it's true that it was broth that I drank so that's good. I need to measure more often. Thanks again!
  10. Thanks! I'll tell you though, from writing the first response last night to writing this one today, I feel SOOO much better! You can do this!

Not Sure I Can Do This

I've never regretted it. Probably should have phrased better lol. I'm guessing you haven't had surgery yet? It's hard to explain, but when you have your surgery, your emotions are truly EVERYWHERE!! In a matter or one day I went through alllll the emotions you could possibly think of. (fear, worry, anger, happiness, proud of myself, "how am I going to do this", "will I be able to eat what I want again?" ) etc. my first few days home, I thought I was hungry. I was devastated. I knew with the sleeve that the big part of it was that the operation removed the part of your stomach that releases the hormone that makes you feel hungry. I thought the operation didn't work. I did research and found out that there is such thing as physical hunger and head hunger, and I was defiantly suffering from head hunger. Now I am actually having a hard time taking everything I need in because I'm not hungry at all. But I don't regret this at all. I'm only 21 and I pretty much did this surgery on my own. Just take it one day at a time and you will do great!
  12. Mine didn't hurt at all to remove. But Im seeing people talk about having their drains for a week or more! Mine was only the few days that I was in the hospital. I guess the only this that hurt a little bit was my PA cutting the stitches Round the drain hole in my belly, but my stitches she said were very tight. But even then it wasn't that bad.
  13. The protein can be tough. I had my surgery on 5/29 so I'm right there with you. Really the only protein drink that I really enjoy is "Adkins Advantage". There dark chocolate is really good and it's filling. They also have milk chocolate, strawberry (I think) and mocha. So far just dark chocolate for me! It's creamy, but not too thick, and doesn't have a grainy or medicine kind of after taste. Hope this helps! Good luck!
  14. Hey guys. I'm 5 days post op, and I am having a lot of pain in my belly and Incision sites, but by far the most painful part is the gas pain in my belly! Is anyone else having these? They make me hiccup and it feels like its ripping my stomach apart! Ugh help!
  15. Hi. I'm 5 days post op and I'll be honest with you, it is painful. I'm very tender inside my belly and my incision sites. So far I can't sit up straight and can't really stand for long. When I do stand I have to take it slow because it hurts to stretch out my belly. The only thing that is comfortable is lying on my back. I'm only 21, just out of school for the summer and I am SOOO bored. Lol I have been trying to walk and get around a bit, but you need to listen to your body and stop when it says stop! Another painful part for me is the gas pains. They have been horrible! I know that is just from me trying new liquids and learning what I can and can't have. A HUGE suggestion I would ask your doctor or nurse is "what am I going to feel like after surgery?" That is something I wish my doctor had explained more to me. They can teach you about how you are going to feel and how to manage pain. Sorry this seems really harsh, but I figured you wanted to hear the truth from someone who is just out of surgery. As far as your baby, honestly, you may want to wait until she grows a little before you have your surgery. The point of recovery is to really only focus on yourself and you getting better. And because one year olds are so dependent that's pretty much impossible. Good luck!

Not Sure I Can Do This

I'm only 5days post op. I'll be totally honest, even yesterday, I was saying to myself "why the hell did I do this!?" I'm sometimes still even saying it. I know everyone has already said it, but you just need to work hard in your pre op diet. It is so important to actually loose a little bit of weight before surgery to reduce risk from anesthesia. It's hard to loose the little bit of weight but you have to try. You need to get healthy in order to get healthy!!! Good luck!
