When I started this journey, I set in my mind that I would consider the sleeve a success if I got under, and maintained under 200# within the first year of surgery. Well, I am just over 8 months out, and am now seeing "1" as the first number on the scale. I have not been under 200# since the late 1980s!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, it is hard to believe I am finally here. I never got under 200# when I was banded - and I had that band for 10 years!!! The sleeve really does work.
I attached a photo from 2 days ago - and one from a month or two preop. When I showed my son the before photo, he was shocked, he didn't remember me being so big. It shocks me too, so I get it.

Ok....I had surgery on 4/24/12 and have now lost 81lb since pre-op diet. I still have 56lb to go. I started at 297 and am now 216. I am 5'8". I started at a 24 and am now wearing a 16. I have been in a stall for the last 2 weeks with minimal inches lost as well (1/2 inch off hips only.) However, I have not been to the gym in the last 2 weeks due to shcool starting and all of that stress. I will be going tomorrow and resuming my 4-5 times per week. Hopefully I will start to loose again. I get about 800-1000 cal per day. I was really hoping to get down to under 200lb before our vacation at the end of the month, but I am thinking that I will probably not happen. I have not had any complications and have a sleeve of steel that tolerates everything. I don't eat everything though.

I have officially lost 100 pounds as of this morning!! This is the most amazing thing EVER!!!!

UPDATE: he was cheating on me that's the real reason he wanted a divorce.. Thank god for phone call records... I knew it just needed proof! So Monday I WILL FILE FOR DIVORCE! he's so scandalous... Good for nothing son of a -----, it's ok he will get his!! God is justice in time he will try to come back , but noooooooo... This girl is DONE... I'm learning to love myself and start fresh - it will b hard but I can do it... Plus there's plenty of fish in the sea:)

after weeks of being all stressed out about finding the dress..... and without having any idea of the size, I found the strength and went out shopping for a dress!!! I found one! and it was a size 8! I almost cried!!!! I think last time I wore a size 8 was in elementary! hahH! i looooove my sleeve! i hope to reach my goal weight someday, but I sure am happy today just the way I am!!!

The drugs take the edge off, or I'd never leave the house!!! Lol

its sooo funny you mentioned the colors!!! its so true! sooo soo sooo true! i barely ever wear black now! it even goes with the decor in my bedroom. i redecorated my room & painted & all. the walls are a caramel/peanut butter color with brown decor. i never felt confident enough to be the girly girl that i am. im DESPERATELY dying to paint my room hot pink now! i felt so trapped in my body & my insecurities! now i feel alive & sexy & happy!

Sorry to hear this, I feel going to stay with your parents may be the way forward. You need them right now and I'm sure they want to help you xxx

My new surgery date! Had to cancel my July one as the bank wouldn't give me a loan boo to the bank! Bank manager said come back in 4 months and he'd be able to help me! Until then I'm saving like a mad women and have taken on a second job!! So want this surgery!!!

I'm from the uk too!!! Hello!!! I'm getting my op 26th July!!!! So excited!!! Have about 6 stone to loss and can't wait to feel good in my own skin!!!

Hi, i had my sleeve done at the spire Manchester hospital on the 12th Nov and my experience so far is very similar to yours. Within a few hours , I was up and about around the hospital garden, good nights sleep and then home. I was so so expecting to have more pain than I actually did. Now just lookin forwardbto the future. Nice to come across other uk members... Best wishes, Fiona
