  1. i was told my my doctor that the stomach heals just like a cut on your skin it heals on its own forming scar tissue the staples stay there but do not cause any harm. once the stomach is fully healed its very rate that you would have a rupture.. however I've read on here horrible stories about the body rejecting the staples or the staples not taking .... all i can say hope we are all safe with this titanium we will carry with us forever.. we should check back on each other 20 30+ years from now .. jk

  2. sleeved july 12th......i have hit a stall for about 3 weeks : ( but even though the scale isn't budging.. i finally fit into my old jeans that i have held on to size 10!! so apparently my body is loosing mass even though the darn scale isn't moving.. I'm very happy .. please share this happiness with anyone out there you might know that is in a deep depression over their weight let everyone know that this worked for us and there is hope.... : )

I'm now able to tolerate all foods and my stomach can take in just about anything.. of course in moderation.. i do watch my portions my calories and i do not snack like before i take my Vitamins ... if i overeat its bad!! so i def avoid overeating i go into severe pain sweaty and i fall into a comatose feeling.. just want to pass out.. so i never ever over do it its such horrible episodes and scary.. that i DO not make myself full.. really need help with this stall my scale doesn't budge. thanks

  4. sleeved on july 12 down 30 pounds and I'm stalling also but at 9 weeks out I'm officially out of the woods.. saw my doctor.. and got a clean bill of health ... its been a roller coaster but I'm "normal" now.. had many obstacles and got thru them all.. first few weeks were the hardest had dehydration, gastrointestinitis, naropathy, abdominal pain, gastritis, hypoglasimia and pain pain pain.. had many tests done and many medications. last test was egd and my G I doctor states that I'm now able to eat anything i want and assured me my stomach should not stretch out.. as far as eating I've done ok along the way despite the pain attacks i stuck to my diet phases but within the last week.. i have experienced tons of hunger literally want to shove everything in my mouth. its scary.. hope this is a phase that will go away. regardless of what i have gone through i don't regret my wls because i am down 4 pant sizes.. : -)

  5. so its official I'm officially out of the woods.. I'm 9 weeks out and saw my doctor.. and got a clean bill of health ... its been a roller coaster but I'm "normal" now.. had many obstacles and got thru them all.. dehydration, gastrointestinitis, naropathy, abdominal pain, gastritis, hypoglasimia and pain pain pain.. had many tests done and many medications. last test was egd and my G I doctor states that I'm now able to eat anything i want and assured me my stomach should not stretch out.. as far as eating I've done ok along the way despite the pain attacks i stuck to my diet phases but within the last week.. i have experienced hunger attacks literally get extremely hungry and want to shove everything in my mouth. its scary.. although i can't overstuff my stomach or i get severe pain i still attempt to eat more then i should because i feel so hungry i hope this is a phase that will go away. is this physical mental did the gi doctors words trigger bad behavior has anyone experienced this? was it a phase? did it go away? please share. trying really hard to control my eating.. by the way I'm stalling between 141 - 143 pounds..... regardless of what i have gone through i don't regret my wls because i am down 4 pant sizes.. : -)

  6. your body is grieving the loss of part of your stomach and that is major!!! in these first weeks focus on your recovery your diet and try to make yourself comfotable and find things that make you happy such as a movie an object a favorite picture keep it near you as a symbol that you cared enough about yourself to take control of your wieght and health you are in the driver seat now not food! for me it was a bag of clothes that i kept filling up as the wieght kept coming off and it will that bag is almost full now.... personally i dont care for medz unless absolutely required ask your doctor about joining a support group and visit this site daily for great info and stories good luck

  7. next treat day i will have the dough.. lol.. yum.. i must say i truly appreciate food now ... before food was not even something i thought about i just gulped it now i cherish food.. and there is so much of it to choose from.. just have to choose the right food yay

  8. I'm shocked to hear people go back to work so early.. i too sit all day and high stress job.. but no way i cannot see myself going back to normal so quickly i did have complications early on but for me dealing with work and recover at the same time was not gonna happen... taking care of myself to recover completely was my focus recovery first work second.. i took as much time as my doctor allowed for sleeve (6weeks) and then i took a leave on top of that but no pay... for a few more weeks.. my insurance did cover the sleeve but it took a long time to get approved .... i recommend the sleeve a friend of mine has lap and hasn't worked for her at all she gained weight cuz the band eventually lets you fall back to all the bad habits if you don't continue with band adjustments.. with sleeve there is no way you can cheat your stomach will not let you overeat!!!!

  9. tried pizza for the first time since my sleeve.. oh my!!... I'm 6 weeks out and promised myself a treat.... i had half a small slice of just cheese with no crust and i cut it up in small pieces totaled about 4-6ounces i dipped it in sauce just in case.. i chewed each small piece very well and took my time.. was scared but all went ok i did get full right away and my stomach gurgled as it went down.. but such a milestone for me.. being that i had lots of complications early on yay me.. all i can say is yum yum yum.

  10. I'm 6 weeks out. ... and i was a very occasional soda person before surgery.. but do crave it especially to quench my thirst... at a recent family function i accidentally out of habit drank 7-up after gulping it and realizing it.. i was on panic mode just waiting to see the outcome and it did give me a very uncomfortable and bad stomach acke so won't do that again ... like all the other comments i would wait a very long time to try it...

  11. sleeved on 7-12-12 ..... I'm on my stage 3 puree foods but I'm scared to eat... i get pain after eating and i feel so tired and exhausted after a meal my neck hurts my throat feels tight and i just don't feel well.. and i only get 4-6 oz... i get excited to eat but then i get these symptoms is this normal ? i thought i would be tolerating foods better by now..
