    Having Trouble Laying Down!!

So for those interested, i finally got an answer to the mystery..turns out one of the nerves in same spot as band is the vega nerve. Mine is apparently more sensitive than normal. This actually explains alot about my past history of passing out for no reason also. When stimulated the vega nerve can cause reduced blood pressure, sometimes severe, thus the resulting nausea, headache ect in me now. Good part is this symptom has gradually lessoned an dr says as my vega nerve adapts should go away entirely. Enjoy

    You Don't Need Surgery...

I just got my first adjustment today...5th week post op....the first two weeks after surgery, were great...did't really want food. However, As hard as I've been trying to stay on my diet, my band still had no Fluid yet and I fell off the wagon a few times. I NEED this band...its the ONLY way to keep me from overeating. So I feel you. I hope the adjustment today helps me to eat less, and if its not the right amount, I'll get some more until it is...SOOOOO excited to get in the green zone... Good Luck!!! PS..for those of us who haven't told everyone, I don't think its about being ashamed. Its about not wanting to be judged. I'm glad for those who aren't affected by the critical people in your'e life. And I am empathetic with those who are.

Told A Two Friends At Work

I am recently banded, only 3weeks, and have felt the same way. There are only a handfull of people that know and some of those only out of necessity. You may be like me...having tried so many diets or programs and having lost weight, ALOT of weight on occasions...only to feel crappy once you gain it back. You can't help but wonder what people say or think about you. And that may only be our perception and not the reallity..doesn't matter. I don't want to deal with it either. There is nothing wrong, in my book, in keeping it to yourself...its a personal decision anyway. You ARE going to lose weight and keep it off...this is going to CHANGE our lives forever...I'm so excited...I want it to happen faster. But it took years to put on the pounds, so its going to take some time to lose it. Hang in their..and good luck.

    Would Like A Positive Buddy

I just got banded two weeks ago, i have read alot too on the setbacks some are experiencing It really started to freak me out because i saved up for a year to pay for this and never expected to read about so many NOT having success However, having thought about it, i choose to use their mistakes as reasons not to fail. Knowing now that the band is simply a tool to HELP us lose weight, so very much still depends on our own resolve to make healthy choices for ourselves at each and every meal. Not easy, but doable, AND... There are WAY more success stories here than anything else. Its expensive...i know, but you are making a geat deccision to do it...i hope you follow thru with the surgery. And think about this...i read it once years ago during one of my many diets...and now i say it out loud to myself every day... "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"!
  6. Has anyone experienced this or heard of it? 2 weeks post-op When i lay down regardless off time of day/evening, and regardless of what time i last ate, i begin experiencing tightness in chest followed by burning sensation in neck and eardrums, then massive headace and finnaly urge to purge...as soon as i sit up everthing goes back to normal. But i can only sleep propped up or in a chair. Any thoughts?
  7. Guys, it scares me to read about all ur set backs but in a way its good too. Ive been banded for only two weeks, i had no idea it would be so easy to NOT lose weight due to "cheating"... That scares me because i'm the ultimate cheater when it comes to eating. I will hopefully LEARN from ur setbacks so i can prevent it from happening to me.. I hope u keep working at it, i want to read soon that you are having success again. Try not to think about this as failure but as a learning curve. Thanks for sharing

    Sweet Success 6 Month Bandanniversary

I really appreciate what you have shared here. I have a food addiction too...my insurance wouldnt cover the band a year ago or now...but I saved up and paid out of pocket. I had my surgery May 18th...and although I have lost almost 15lbs since pre-op diet...I wonder everyday if I wasted my money...if this is really going to work for me. I was also exactly 247 on the date of my surgery. I already find myself thinking of ways to cheat the band....why do I do this??? On the positive side...I don't really have the money anymore to indulge in my fast food vice. Any way thanks again for sharing...I hope to be an inspiration to someone else in time.
