  1. thats a great point about the metabolism thing. I'm a revision, 6 weeks out and the past three weeks i've lost about a pound a week which i think makes me the slowest one on here. It is frustrating, especially when you see all the other people losing SO quickly. I think some of us just have slower metabolisms? It will just take longer I think

    Fear Of Weightloss

I'm a revision b/c I only lost 20 lbs with the band and the sleeve is so much better. I'm 4 weeks out and have lost another 13 lbs with the sleeve. I'm a "slow" sleeve loser but at least I'm losing whereas with the band I stalled for 3 years. I had the hunger problem with the band and the sleeve has cured that. Good luck!!

4 Weeks Out From Sleeve- Need Advice!

I am so excited to hear your story...I was sleeved on 5/29 and have only lost a total of 10 lbs (3 pre op, 7 post op). I feel like I'm one of the slowest losers on here. Do you have a low BMI? I started at 248 and am now 238 which isn't that low so I figured I'd lose faster. I was right at 200 my entire adult life but after I had my 2nd child, my weight skyrocked for no real reason..I gained 40 lbs in 1 month right after her birth!. I think it must be related to hormones or something...which would explain my incredibly slow weight loss even when I'm only eating 800 calories/day? Anyway, I'm hoping I keep losing!

    Pain After Surgery

I had my revision 3 weeks ago and it wasn't too bad. I was up and walking after my revision like with the band. It wasn't as quick a recovery as the band but I was back to my normal routine within a week. With the band, I was outpatient and with the sleeve I spent one night at the hospital which was good. I had the revision all in one surgery. The first night was the hardest but the pain meds took care of that. I continued to take my pain meds for a few days after surgery--maybe 3 or 4 days? Don't let the pain factor scare you :-)

    Revisions?

i had the band for 3 years and had no problems with it. My problem was that I only lost 25 pounds with it. It did nothing for my hunger. The sleeve seems to have helped curb my hunger.
  7. about how many daily calories are you getting now that you're sleeved? Or do you count them at all?
  8. I used plain hand lotion and mine rubbed off
  9. I had my sleve on May 29th and everything is smooth so far but I'm noticing that my emotions are all over the place. Nothing major...just very happy some parts of the day and kind of empty feeling other parts. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that I probably used to using food to make myself feel better before and I can't anymore? anyone else experience this?

    New Band To Sleever Here

so far recovery has been smooth. Today is day 4 after surgery and I was out and driving today and off pain meds (I never would have believed that on day 2!) I just keep sipping and sipping crystal light and getting in the protein shakes. And, I've lost 4 pounds--yeah! That's huge after a 3 year stall with the band!

    11 Days Post Op

I love the Isopure powders...you have to mix with water but they mix really easily (I just shake them in a covered cup). I love the chocolate, cookies and creme and mint chocolate chip. I buy mine on amazon.com

    First Post

i'm Houston too...glad to see other Houstonians on here too!
  13. Hi I was banded the 29th too! I'm also in alot of pain. If I take my pain meds every 4 hours like prescribed (my doctor prescribed loratab or something like that), the pain is managable but I keep trying to NOT take my meds and then I'm in serious pain. Getting up and sitting down are the hardest for me too. If I could just lay here all day it wouldn't be as bad but I have two kids who want constant attention and that's hard. I want to stop the pain meds asap because they make me groggy. good to meet you on here--there's a couple of us sleeved on May 29th :-)
  14. i'm glad yall posted this because I had revision surgery and its only 3 days out but i haven't lost anything...i was guessing it was all the iv bag fluids? Its annoying and hopefully we'll all start losing soon
