  1. HI Everyone' date='

I had my surgery 10 days ago and since starting with full fluids I am getting terrible heartburn every time I consume anything. It is even happening with Water too sometimes.

What can I do? I have started taking a sip of mylanta....and chew on a tums when it gets real bad.

Please tell me this is going to stop?

Is it oOK to take over the counter stuff like Prilosec etc

    Help![/quote']

Excess stomach acid is a common problem. Many ppl here are prescribed Prilosec. Personally I use the Sam's Club version ov Zantac 150. I don't see why the OTC version of Prilosec wouldn't be ok, except maybe not strong enough.

And yes, this will subside as time passes

  2. It's another multi level hustle. Not saying it won't work, but it's really not any different than the slim fast diet or the Hollywood diet. It greatly restricts calories by controlling eating habits. You an creat the exact same results much cheaper by going to the local health food store buying high quality supplements and creating your own system.

The promise of financial rewards is where the real problem is. This is why you are hearing so much about it. The company gets everybody hyped about the program by promising unrealistic rewards so they go out repeating the companies pitch hoping to get in on the business end of it. However like every other MLM out there you will never make any money selling this overpriced product. You make money recruiting a downline.

  3. Thank you for your support. I've decided I will try to lose the weight on my own. I joined weight watchers last night. I hope the meetings will help. It's a great group of people. I wish u all the best of luck and continued weight loss and health!

Accountability programs like WW will work as long as you keep yourself accountable to someone. You will need someone that will tell you straight if you go off track &you need to be willing to accept that from them.

  4. I am very curious as to why people would risk their sleeve by cheating on the dietary plan given by their surgeon? I know that I was fearful of damaging my staple sline and I cheated with yogurt' date=' but that was because of a discrepancy with Kaiser's dietary plan and the surgeon's dietary plan. I am really interested in hearing the rational that goes through our minds that contribute to us cheating. no judgements, just curious. Thanks everyone. :)[/quote']

For me there were several factors, not the least of which being that I was really concerned abou how much muscle mass I was going to lose. I felt I needed to find ways to pack in as much lean protien as possible.

I looked at so many different diets being suggested & then proceeded to build my own path. My path advanced fairly quickly to mushies, then slowly to soft foods. Now at 7 weeks out I'm actually behind my doctors plan. I do a lot of fish & protien supplements, very little other meats, no red meat yet (except a bit of beef jerkey), no Pasta, bread,,rice,or potatoes.

I have to say yes, I cheated, but not from cravings, or weakness. My "cheating was very deliberate and aimed at a goal.

disclaimer: this is not intended to be taken as advice, it is simply a testament of what I have done

  5. I'm 9 days out and I was wondering about the samething. I make a really great dish with' date=' cucmbers, tomatoes, jalapeños, red onions and shrimp, with lime juice on top of the whole mixture and alittle bit of ketup for color. Well, this is a low-carb, low-fat dish. I was wondering if anyone else can eat ceviche still.[/quote']

Haven't tried ceviche yet, but I have a small Cocktail de Cameron 2-3 times a week.

  6. Off subject...... I currently live in IL hate this state! I would love to move to TN I have teenage kids and I currently live in a small farm community. Where would you recommend to move in TN? Worried about drugs and school system.

If you can afford it, Brentwood is a great area, & their public schools consistently outperform most privates.

  7. I'm in Missouri and we have multiple types of cheese curds at any grocery store you go to. Plain' date=' white cheese, yellow cheese, dill, peppered, etc. Are they a Wisconsin thing?[/quote']

Yes, they are definitely a WIsconsin thing. I live in Missouri also, Springfield area, can't find anything near me that compares to the stuff in Wi.
