4 Weeks Out/up And Down With Weight
O.T.R. sleever replied to muzikmkrii's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do a search on "3 week stall" then sit back an realize that what you are experiencing is completely normal. There are few people hat don't experience this. -
Looking at your budget & size restriction, I'd have to recomend a Ninja. You can get their smaller one for clost to that price, I have the full size commercial version and with the small carraf it isn't too big.

Loosing Too Much Weight?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ab76307's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say, you are very impressive. Almost a year out and still following a relatively strict diet. Unfortunately for you the thing that brought you this far is taking you farther than you anticipated. It pains me to say it, but if you want to stop losing your gonna have to boost your carb intake some. May I ash what your BMI is now? Or your ht/wt. I notice very few people hit the underweight category -
Loosing Too Much Weight?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ab76307's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gotta ask, "what" are you eating? There is a really good possibility that you are eating a lot of low carb/ calorie foods. You gotta remember, there are two sides to this. Not only how much you eat, byt also what you eat. -
Pre-Op Phase Shakes Are Killing Me!!!!
O.T.R. sleever replied to hbatson75's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My recommendations for Protein are 1. unjury, I prefer the chocolate splendor & the chicken Soup flavors. 2. nectar by Syntrax, these are fruitier flavored. If neither of those work for you the the absolute best tasting, richest, & creamiest one I've found is Chike. Chike however is not a Protein Drink. It is a high protein Meal Replacement. It does have a few more calories than a the other two but has more protein & less calories that any of the RTD Meal Replacements I've seen I like the chocolate flavor and the banana flavor (banana tastes like banana pudding) All three of the above offer sample packs direct from the manufacturer so you can try then and decide which ones you like One lat thing. Cytosport is making a clear type RTD protein I believe it's called 100% Whey that is gaining a lot of popularity with sleevers. If you have a Vitamine Shoppe near you cou can get them individually from their cooler. Save your receipt, Vitamine Shoppe has a satisfaction policy. If you drink it & don't like it you can return the bottle within 7 days for a refund. -
Very good idea, this is what Dr. Alvarez from Endobariatric says about Lapband vs Sleeve. He is one of the most respected bariatric surgeons in North America he has and does perform both surgeries, but I will say, he is does have his preference.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!! He doesn't actually eat all that food. I've visited several of the places feature in the episodes (no I didn't take any of the challenges). I was informed at both the Big Texan Steakhouse & The Heartattack Grille that the challenge meals were actually shared with the crew. The shows results are a result of mediocre acting and creative editing. But it is still a good show.

I agree it SUCKS!! And it was the worst attack I've had, but keep in mind this could very well be tha last gout attack you ever experience. When mine hit I was eating naproxen like candy for two weeks just so it wouldn't throb even staying off of it. Just keep up on the uric acid cleanse. My feet feel better now than anytime in my memory.

Stupid Question .... Protein Shakes
O.T.R. sleever replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you can tolerate them well, there is no reason not to have 1or 2 a day indefinately. But After a couple/few months they shouldn't be your sole or even your primary source of protein, that should be food. -

I think Wal-mart needs to add the "where is _____ item" feature to their randomly placed price scanners in their stores. -
Doggy Bags And Leftovers....
O.T.R. sleever replied to fattymcfatterson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My two cents, I'd be happy to leave that 4 oz of filet behind. Before the sleeve I would have found a way to stuff it in. And really, it never tastes quite as good once it's been reheated. -
Obese After Sleeve?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Sannah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First thing to my mind is your surgeon is shooting numbers based on averages. On average a sleever loses 70% of excess body fat. You don't have to be the average. Tree are many here that have lost more than they currently weigh. This is your life, and your journey, you decide if average is good enough I can tell you now, average is not for me. -
My recommendation would be the Unjury® protein powders. I love the chocolate splendor and the chicken soup is great when you want something savory instead of sweet.
-
The best is whey protein isolate. My top 2 recommendations are Unjury® and Syntrax Nectar® I'd also recommend getting an accountability partner. One that will be honest with you when you start down the wrong path.

It Is Going To Be A Year And Only Lost 42 Lbs .. But Lost 30Lbs Before Surgery...don't Know What To Do
O.T.R. sleever replied to MANDY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Most of us can eat anything. The question is what are you choosing to eat. I'm not asking you to share that with us if you are not comfortable with that, but at least do a food journal for a week. Write down everything that goes into your mouth. Include items used in preparation. Track volumes also, and add up your total daily calorie count. I think you may find its much higher than you might think Also, what are you drinking? It is so easy to drink a ton of calories and not even notice it. -
I love this as I am a waterbaby myself. That's gotta feel great. Sounds like its time to look into a new Seadoo

Seconds Thoughts?

I can assure you this is completely normal. So normal in fact that I bet you'd have. Hard time finding someone that didn't experience the last minute doubts. -
I feel ya 100%. I am a pasta freak. So I have sworn off all bread, pasta, rice, potato, and fried foods till I reach goal or for 1 year, which ever comes first. I'm waiting on the call from Olive Garden to see if I'm still alive. But to be honest, it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
