Does Wl Really Stop At 6 Mos?!
O.T.R. sleever replied to Blugirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Typical estimates are that you will lose 50% of what you are going to lose in the first 6 months, then 25% over the 2nd 6months and the balance through the second year. But there are many people that have made it to goal in 9 months or less. -
Does Wl Really Stop At 6 Mos?!

NO The first 6months or so is when you will lose the fastest but you continue loosing as long as you continue eating properly and exercising. -

We used Pedialite in my wrestling days to rehydrate after cutting weight. -
Lotion For Skin Toning...
O.T.R. sleever replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The absolute best way to keep your skin moisturized is to keep hydrated. Drink lots of water. As far as lotions my wife swears by maderma. I use utterly smooth/utter cream. -
Protein Shakes Help Please
O.T.R. sleever replied to Carol Watts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's fine, but the simple fact is that because of the type of Protein used in that shot, you really need to count them as 4grams of protein, because that is all your body will be able to absorb. Less than 10%. I won't say anything else about this on this thread. -

Protein Shakes Help Please
O.T.R. sleever replied to Carol Watts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First things first, I see that you are 1 week post op. how are you doing on your Fluid intake(water)? There is a very good possibility that your stomach still has too much swelling to tolerate the heaviness of a Protein drink. Also, do not waste your money on protein shots. They are completely useless. The protein they contain is not useable by the human body. -
Non Food Rewards
O.T.R. sleever replied to Scaredy Cat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm a bit too self indulgent. I have 2 major gifts to myself. The first being knee repair surgery. I've been needing this for years, but I've not gotten it because I knew with all the extra weight I'd probably just mess it up again. The second is an "at goal" gift. I've always wanted a really nice casual suit. So I'm saving up for it, I figure me "vanity" acct will have enought in it about the time I reach goal. -

Nsv... I Went From 5:45 Am To 5 Pm Without Using My Wheelchair...

2months without the chair, that's gotta feel so good. Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see the post where you say "the chair is gone". -
Yup, I'm right there with you. I lost 85lbs in 15 weeks and have been stuck between 205-210 for the last 6 weeks. If you look at the "Super Saturday Weigh In" thread you can see my weekly posts verifying this. Most people stall twice by the 3 month mark. I guess since we went so long without a stall we get longer ones.

Protein Shakes?
O.T.R. sleever replied to beatles girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
O.o Guru? I'm glad to be of assistance. Not sure I could live up to the guru title though. Thank you;) -
Smoked turkey leg & collard greens. If that ain't good eatin' I don't know what is. Pre-op it would have also had Mac-n-cheese & a couple rolls. And it would have all been 1 meal. (after lunch & dinner somebodies dog will likely get a bone with about 1/3 of the meat left on it.

Be careful offering this. I haul flowers out of Miami & O.J. From Auburndale & Bradenton.

Did Anyones Surgery Effect Your Menstrul Cycle?
O.T.R. sleever replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Obviously not from my own experience, but, rapid weight loss will have an effect on this due to all of the estrogen that has been stored in the fat cells being dumped into your bloodstream as the fat goes away. -
Protein Shakes?
O.T.R. sleever replied to beatles girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just be very careful with the bars, they tend to be very high calorie. Other options for Protein are Hemp Protein powder. I mix this with 4oz of mango purée & 2-4oz of water- tastes great. Greek yogurt, it has tons of protein. unjury chicken Soup flavor. It teases like the broth from ramen soup. String cheese And of course tuna, and the like. Hope this helps. -
Care to expound upon your response? Alcohol does thin the blood, so I'm not sure where the inaccuracy lies. At 6 weeks the staple line is typically considered healed, so it does seem to make some sense to me.

How do you normaly react to flu shots? I've only had2 in my life & I got sick both times.
-
I have mixed them all with Water, I liked them that way. The only exceptions being unflavored, I only use this to mix into creamy or milk based items such as yogurt, cottage cheese, or creamy Soups. Also strawberry is a bit too sweet for me. I ended up having to cut it 50/50 with unflavored.

It's a side effect from losing weight regardless how it is done. Fat is an insulator it will help you retain body heat. As you lose weight it's like removing insulation. Have you ever noticed that you tend to be hungrier & crave "comfort" foods in the fall & winter? This is the bodies natural reaction to falling temperatures, it is trying to thicken the fat layer. And yes, you will adjust to having less fat on your body.
