Wanting To Make My Own Protien Shakes
O.T.R. sleever replied to chum's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I can't remember who it was, but someone thinned out Greek yogurt to a drinkable consistency. That would be good and you could flavor it with torani sf syrups. -

Telling Your Boss Your Having Surgery..
O.T.R. sleever replied to MK1986's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another way to address this situation, and probably what I would do is write an email seating what you are doing & why. Be specific. Tell about the problems you have experienced and what you expect from the surgery and what you are expecting to have to overcome. Say that you know you work with a great supportive team, and thank them in advance for all the support that you know they will give you. Once you've got that written out on your last day at work before surgery send it to everybody. When everybody knows what's up it doesn't leave much room for speculation and gossip. You've also set an expectation of support which will make anybody that is unsupportive look like an ass. And all this is accomplished keeping you in a positive light. -
Telling Your Boss Your Having Surgery..
O.T.R. sleever replied to MK1986's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find it so amazing how many times I see people on this forum "afraid" to tell their" boss" or coworkers about their surgery. It always seems to spiral into a debate of tell or not tell. I have a recommendation of my own. Be honest, tell your "boss" about the health problems you've experienced let them know that you intend to be a healthier person going forward in life. Not only is this good for you, but it is good for them too. Healthier team members tend to be more reliable & more productive. There are also benifits to all your coworkers. As you lose weight it brings down the offices average BMI which more often than not has an effect on everybodies insurance rates. After all of this, if the office proves to be so toxic that you can't be comfortable there, then ask yourself. Why do I choose to stay in a toxic situation. Maybe as you are making positive changes in your life, working a job you love, with people you trust might go on your list. -

The better hydrated you keep yourself the faster you will be back to normal. This goes for every thing that dries out on your body, mouth, skin, & even um..... yup, that too. -

Feel Like I'm A Failure

Are you just drinking water? Try a bit of apple cider vinegar also. It will soften the stones some & if they have sharp edges it can melt those away. -

I've got some really bad news for you. Those Protein shots are completely useless. The protein they use is collagen/ Gelatin. It is not usable by the human body.

I've used 5hr energy & my experience post sleeve is that it takes affect much faster and stronger. It kicks in almost immediately whereas pre sleeve it took about an hr. also I split the bottle into 2 doses now which I didn't do before. FYI, 5hr energy does make a caffeine free version. It's in a blue bottle.

Any Protein Bars Worth Trying?
O.T.R. sleever replied to thehappycat's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'd like to chime in here for a minute and answer the origional question. The answer is NO. Protein bars should never become a regular part of your diet. They contain way too many calories for the amount of protein they offer. Basicly all they are is candy bars with protein powder added, and tge better they taste the worse they are(my experience). All that being said I do keep a couple handy. If I've got a busy day and won't have time to stop & eat I'll eat one. This is the exception not the rule. My recommendation is the Premier Nutrition protein bars. I get them at Sam's Club. They have 30g protein and 270cal. I recommend only eating 1/2bar at a time. -
The words "Vita Nova" it's Latin for new life or life anew.

When making eggs I use a mixture of both 1whole egg + 1 egg white. It really helps with the protein level & reduces calories, carbs, cholesterol, etc. also I can't taste a difference.

I'm hoping the 7hr gap here means they found the problem & are taking appropriate measures to correct it. -

Has "hunger" Changed For You Since Banding?
O.T.R. sleever posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, as my screen name indicates, I'm a sleever. I've been on the sleeve forum a few months now. I am interested in learning more about all forms of WLS. I'm pretty familiar withe mechanics of each of the operations. What I'm really interested is more of the personal experiences. What is life like post band, do you still feel hunger after your pouch is full? Not referring to head hunger here. That's an issue surgery cannot fix. I appreciate any responses you may offer and am happy to offer my experiences(if desired) on the sleeve side. -
Chances are there is a store near you that carries it. Use the store locator on their website. Also amazon has it.

PB2 is defatted powdered roasted peanuts. Tastes like peanut butter. Yes, your tastes will likely change. Also Chike is good but it is high calorie.
