O.T.R. sleever replied to lotti's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was more comfortable in my own clothes. I'd recommend sleep pants and an oversized t-shirt. -
She apparently hasn't made it this far yet.

Premeire Protein Drinks from Costco - BEST EVER
O.T.R. sleever replied to IMWORTHIT2013's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Body by Vi is a multi level marketing hustle. They sell mediocre(at best) Meal Replacement shakes that are no better than buying ensure or slim fast. As is typical around almost all MLM products there is a lot of hype & excitement. They really need this hype to get you to pay their ridiculous prices for their products. Lets compare their product to another popular one many here use. Premier Protein 12pk of shakes are 18.88 They have 30g protein per shake quick math that comes to 5.23cents per gram of protein Body by Vi 30 serving bag is 49 It contains 12g protein per serving Same quick math it's 13.6cents per gram 30 X 12 = 360 49 / 360 = 0.136 Just out of curiosity lets compare that to nectar protein, which uses micro filtered whey protein isolate. The highest quality protein you can get. Syntrax® Nectar 144 serving tub is 32.41 It contains 6g protein per serving The math here comes out to 3.75cents per gram 144 X 6 =864 32.41/ 864 = 0.0375 So as you can easily see, Body by Vi is almost 4 times as expensive as the highest quality protein on the market. And is almost 2.5 times the cost of the more convenient RTD. -
Has anyone had their sleeve stretched?
O.T.R. sleever replied to AussieLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd really be interested in hearing how this would be accomplished. Everything I've read or heard indicates a properly formed sleeve is near impossible to stretch. -

Premier Protein Shakes at Amazon.com $7/Case!
O.T.R. sleever replied to BrickHouse's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Only reason I can possibly come up both is that they have a relatively high glycemic index. I'm not really a carb counter. I have all but eliminated white carbs from my diet, but am a believer that healthy carbs (the type in fruits & veggies) should never be avoided, only moderated. -

Yup. Not only does it taste good, it is sweetened with stevia, so no artificial sweeteners -

Premier Protein Shakes at Amazon.com $7/Case!
O.T.R. sleever replied to BrickHouse's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use several different Proteins. But the ones I use the most are: Syntrax Nectar® (fuzzy navel, medical unflavored) unjury (chicken Soup, chocolate splendor) Premier (These are for convenience) Jay Robb (egg protein) Nutiva® hemp (15g) I also try to eat protein rich foods like Greek yogurt, peas, string cheese, etc -
Did I do something wrong?
O.T.R. sleever replied to LifetimeLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to lift anything over 15lbs for 6 weeks. "Sight pain"? Are we talking about incision site? Quite possibly a torn suture. Unfortunately at this stage if it is, it will just be something you'll have to deal with. Because it would be too invasive to reopen an incision to replace 1 internal suture. -

Premier Protein Shakes at Amazon.com $7/Case!
O.T.R. sleever replied to BrickHouse's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Sounds like a misunderstanding of the PDCAAS scoring model. The PDCAAS doesn't go from 1-100, it from 0.00-1.00. Looking at the ingredients of a premier shake, it is all milk based Proteins which score 1.0- the best score available. I typically say that premier is a "good alternative" if you cannot tolerate pure whey Protein isolate or I'd you need the convenience. The downside to Premier shakes is that they are mostly milk based rather than whey. Meaning they do contain much of the impurities found in milk and are not a good option for the lactose intolerant. Keep in mind that immediately after surgery we are much more likely to develop a lactose intolerance. Therefore I recommend them as a convenience but not as a regular "go to" protein source.
