  1. @Nurse Ally & DJackson: My doctor is very strict and very particular on what happens before and after surgery. He's really careful, but hey I'm not complaining. If I remember correctly, I was told he hasn't had any leaks yet. @Sarah: Oh good, that's a big relief! Thanks!

    Recovery

I got sleeved the 30th, and it's been 5 days now. I'm feeling much better now, but I still have some pains when I move around.
  3. Hey guys, I got sleeved June 30th, and wow it's been quite the journey. For all the veterans, how long until your pain started going down? I'm having a lot of trouble with it, and it's such a mood killer. I'm always grumpy with everyone...is this normal? I'm terrified.
  4. I'll definitely try the Rolaids! I've been having trouble going to sleep since I usually sleep on my stomach. I wake up with a huge amount of back pain.
  5. Thank you so much! I'm so happy to finally get this surgery after it's been planned for so long. Anyway, I was pretty close to home. The hospital is about 5 minutes away. And I took your advice on the pillows, and I'm doing much better! Thanks!
  6. I'm currently on the 2 week liquid diet, and I'm worried because I had a little bit of eggs this morning, and a few days ago a soup with some noddles.
  7. Where are you guys? And what an unfortunate day, if you're a twilight fan I might add. LOL
  8. Good for you! I can't be anywhere near food at all or I'll be tempted, but you went and made dinner for your family! Lol, I had to turn down the father's day cookout today...too much temptation.
  9. You're not alone at all! I'm in the same exact boat you're in. My advice, eat jello! It will give you something to chew on, and have you feeling better about not being able to eat.

The last day of my old life

This is exactly how I felt on the "last" day. What motivated me is that now, I'm truly on the road to loosing weight and there's no going back from here. Just 2 weeks away from surgery, and it's on! It feels like my life is really going to change from here on out! Good luck, and know you're definitely not the only one! No problem is unfamiliar in this community! :biggrin0:
  11. Thanks guys! I feel much better reading your posts now! :biggrin0: I realized today, that jello is a lifesaver. It gives you something to chew on to really stop craving something to eat. I hated the sugar-free taste at first, but I've gotten used to it!
  12. Thanks guys! I feel much better reading your posts now! :biggrin0:

How to tell grams and what-not?

Thanks Jerry and Tiff for the amazing links!!
  14. Hey guys, I'm HORRIBLE with telling how much grams and stuff I'm supposed to eat. Can anyone describe or link me to a site? I'm so scared that I'll overeat, or eat too little. This is what I'm most concerned about with the surgery. I've been looking everywhere on the internet for a good website with visuals for VSG patients, but can't find one!
  15. How do you feel? I just got approved, and surgery is on June 30th. I feel like is this really happening? Anyways, I just want to know how you guys felt when you randomly looked in the mirror one day and you notice that you're actually losing weight, and you don't recognize yourself anymore! Tell me all about it, I'm all ears!
  16. That's exciting, I truly can't wait for that! My impatience that will probably get the best of me though.

    this isn't real to me

This thread is awesome. This is exactly what I'm feeling now, like losing weight is a dream that would never happen. I don't see myself skinny at all because it's been so long.
  18. Thanks to everyone for their input! Right now, I just want to fully give my attention to this surgery and the weight-loss, so I've put it down for now. June 30th is the date! Woohoo!
  19. Thanks for your reply! I agree, that's partially why I wanted to ask. I'm sure there are others that have been curious to know.
  20. This is exactly what I wasn't looking for. Thank you.
