  1. I've noticed lately the way I laugh, changed. I don't know if it's because I'm still recovering or not? Strange, but just a thought.
  2. I tend to just throw the pill in my mouth, and get a gulp, tilt my head back to submerge the pill and swallow. Don't know how to explain, but I try my best to not let my tongue get in the way when I motion to swallow.
  3. LOL, thanks for the advice. I'm feeling great now so I'll definitely try them out.
  4. As a final goodbye to summer, the fam and I are going to King's Dominion on Sunday. It's been 2 months post-op...do you think I'd be able to ride the rides just fine?
  5. The first few days, I regretted it. That's only because I was in so much pain and discomfort and pretty much thought it would never end. Few weeks out now and I forget sometimes that I even had the surgery.
  6. Or can you do something about them? Can anyone recommend good lotions or anything that are good at making them go away?
  7. I kinda have the same thing. Especially when I get up in the morning, I feel really bad. I'm guessing it's because I'm so dehydrated waking up!
  8. Well, I actually can't wait to have a soda later on. I never got to try my Tru Blood drinks.
  9. If you're having trouble getting liquids in, get a timer from the kitchen section at Walmart or Target. At the hospital, I had to drink an ounce of liquid every 15 minutes and the timer helped a lot. So I've made it a habit now! Also Gatorade is a heaven-sent for getting rehydrated.
  10. Yeah, I love them! Oriental is my favorite.
  11. Tiff hit the nail on the head. I would be embarrassed too. I'd rather take home some yummy food for leftovers!
  12. Oh, Thank God! Thanks for the tip on the wate tiff! I just had some and the saltyness is killing me. And yes, my stepmom has billions of those too. I'm going to look out for the veggie one, it sounds yummy!
  13. I'm looking for alternative broths because I've gotten kinda sick of the swanson broth...But in my house we have plenty of ramen noodles! (I used to LOVE these, but now I don't care for them :confused1:) Since I can easily just take out the mix, I was wondering if these would be okay? Here's a link for the nut facts: CalorieKing - Calorie Counter - Calories in Maruchan, Noodles: Ramen Noodles, Chicken Flavor
  14. My doctor advised me to get isopure to increase protein intake. So I finally got it today, and I'm not sure if I use water or milk? I tried making some earlier, but I failed. It tasted horrible!
  15. YES, I definitely did. The first day post-op at the hospital was the worse. I didn't want to sip, or take walks because I felt so exhausted. The days following I was really irritable. It's been about a week now, and I'm back to my old self now. :thumbup1:
  16. Do you have any advice? Like on how much you took in a bite? I'm getting kinda anxious on starting to eat...I don't want to overdo it!
  17. This worries me a lot too, because I really didn't like the whole recovery portion of the surgery. The pain was horrible to me. And having a leak will mean I'd have to do it all over again. :biggrin0: But, we have to remember there's only a %1-4 chance you'll have a leak. It's still nerve wracking because I'm just like you OP!
  18. Hey all, I was reading some posts the other day about leaks and kinda freaked out. Anybody know the symptoms of a leak? If there is any?
  19. @Nurse Ally & DJackson: My doctor is very strict and very particular on what happens before and after surgery. He's really careful, but hey I'm not complaining. If I remember correctly, I was told he hasn't had any leaks yet. @Sarah: Oh good, that's a big relief! Thanks!
  20. Got sleeved the 30th, and I have an appointment on Wednesday. I'm guessing they're going to pull them out. I'm feeling so much better now and I'm kinda scared the pulling of the drain and catheter is going to have me sore again. What are your experiences with your pullouts?
  21. I got sleeved the 30th, and it's been 5 days now. I'm feeling much better now, but I still have some pains when I move around.
  22. I sleep on my stomach, and this sleeping on my back thing has been quite a pain! When is it okay to lay on your stomach? I'm too scared to do it now, and I'm 5 days post-op.
  23. I'll definitely try the Rolaids! I've been having trouble going to sleep since I usually sleep on my stomach. I wake up with a huge amount of back pain.
