About Me

I am a 47 year old divorced mother of two. In a 3 year relationship with Dave, the love of my life. I am ready to make this change forever and get healthy. Tired of being tired and overweight, of the rollercoaster diets and never feeling comfortable in my skin. I have been overweight since I was a child and I can't wait to kill the monster!

At the time I set up this profile, I was hoping to save up enough money to pay for weight loss surgery out of my pocket since my insurance would not cover it. Life happens though, and the money I had saved had to go to other expenses. However, we recently changed our insurance carrier at work and I was thrilled to find out that they would pay for the surgery. I had my first visit with my surgeon a couple weeks ago, and have to go through a 90 day pre-surgical program, so we are looking at surgery in October. That's okay - I've waited most of my adult life for this so another few months will be nothing.

I have sleep apnea and recently was diagnosed with high blood pressure. My brother and mother are diabetic and I figure at the rate I am going that would be next. So this surgery means so much more than looking good - I look forward to being healthy again. I have been mother and father to my children, and I need to get healthy for them - I want to enjoy my grandchildren some day, and not from an armchair because I am too overweight and unhealthy to get up and move.

So - I'm BACK! Hope to share my progress with all of you, and I'm hoping to find support from those of you who know exactly what I'll be going through. Thanks everybody!
