Hi, I have had my band for over two years. Yesterday I ate cherries and of course, they didnt want to go down. I threw them up, no big deal.... but since then I have a pain somewhere down near my port. I have never had it before, and along with the doll pain, I am sometimes getting a sharp pain in that area. Anyone experienced this? I am worried that I did something to it.... Should I be worried? HELP! Thanks, Janette

Hi, I may be posting in the wrong section because I dont know how to do this.....I was banded in April 2007...lost 42 lbs and didnt get enough fills, gained back at least 17lbs. About a month ago, I got a 4th fill ( it had been almost a year since my last.) The fill seemed just right at first but all of a sudden, I cant get much of anything done. I DONT throw up, but it is just really darn uncomfortable, and I constantly have to burp after I eat just a few bites. Seriously, I cant drink much of anything, not to mention eating... Is this the way it is supposed to be? And am I just used to being able to eat too much? I am miserable... do I need an unfill? I really cant even drink small Protein Drink without it getting that "stuck feeling.. and forget about eating before 4 O'clockish or later.... Any suggestions would help! Thanks so much, Janette M.

Hi, I got my third fill yesterday. I fasted beforehand and am supposed to be on warm liquids for 48 hours. I have a queasy feeling and really liuidy stools. I also feel a liitle pain in my abdomen. I dont remember having this on my first 2 fills. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Please let me know...Should I call my Doc? I dont have a fever or anything. :omg:I dont know if this is where I am supposed to post this but I am freaking out! I am almost 4 months out and last week I started noticing my hair is falling out in what I consider huge amounts. I dont have super thick hair to begin with. I was told this might happen, but I guess I was thinking it might not happen to me. What can I do? Will anything help? Please someone tell me I wont be bald! How long does it fall out? Can it be from not enough Protein, or is it from losing weight too quickly? HELP!!!! Thanks guys for your replies. It is Monday, I had my fill on Thursday. I still get the coughing feeling when I put anything that is not liquid down there. I have this feeling like a golf ball is stuck in my chest/stomach area....... I dont know what to think. Maybe it just needs time to "settle in"? I have to burp a lot now and I didnt have that before the fill. Is that normal? I hesitate to call the Dr. because I dont get any real answers........just that everyone is different and to wait and see... NOT really what I want to hear. I think its probably not too tight because I can drink liquids, but even then I have to take it really slow. I am frustrated, I felt much better before my fill.............. Any suggestions? Hi, I got my first fill yesterday. I was banded on April 25th. I really havent eaten much real food yet, just some cottage cheese, Soup, applesauce ect.......... I just drank liquids until tonight and when I tried to eat some cottage cheese, I felt like I needed to cough. Is this what "restriction" means? It sort of hurt and now it feels like something is kind of sitting there...not real pain, but not too comfortable either. Will this feeling go away or is this what it will always feel like? I dont know how much saline the Dr. put in... I hear he isnt agressive and takes it real slow. I really dont like this feeling. It feels like it is in my chest more than my tummy. I have lost 33 pounds in 6 weeks, which I assume is good.... but my doctor didnt say anything to me yesterday about my weight...is that weird or what? :paranoid

Hi, I was banded on April 25th (almost 3 weeks) I am feeling pretty good, but I have this intense pain when I barely even bend at the waist. It even really hurts to sit! Its near, but not where the port is. (I think) It is pretty bad pain.....like maybe a 5 or a 6. Did anyone else have this. I am kinda hesitant to call my doctor because they will just think I am being a wimp. I went to see him 1 week post-op because I had searing pain.......... I think maybe they think I am just a huge whiner...LOL! But I am not, really! I had all three of my daughters without any pain meds at all! There is a big hard knot directly under the incision where the port was put in...Is that normal? I love my surgeon, but I wasnt given much info on what to expect after surgery....HELP!!!!!:help: :help: :help: Anyone? Thanks so much, Janette PS. I have lost 27 lbs including pre op diet! yeah!

Hi, I was banded last week. I take Paxil and a thyroid med. I have no problem swallowing them. You could try and see how it goes. You dont have your band filled, so you might be surprised! Good Luck! As always, ask your Doc! Hope you feel better soon. Janette

Hi, I got my band 2 days ago. I actually felt better yesterday than I do today. I cant believe how much pain I am in. Can anyone tell me when it starts to let up? My Dr. isnt pushing pain meds, he says try NOT to take them. I feel like I wish I hadnt done this to myself...........Hope I feel different in a few days. I would honestly KILL for something solid! Even shredded wheat. I am not really hungry anymore. I just feel kind of wierd, a bit out of it...........like I have taken cold medicine, but I havent. I am sure that is from the changes my body is going through. I am sure I am not getting enough water...I try, but it seems to make me feel sick. I am on day 5 of my 10 day liquid diet. Tomorrow I am having an Endoscopy of my stomach. YIKES! At least the fasting before wont be a problem! LOL! Anyone else have that particular test? Also, I am low in iron so I am going to get iron infusions (5) One today and one right before my surgery. Seems like so much stuff to do before surgery. I guess I am a little "emotional" at this point...lol (duh). I have only had one small meltdown so far............My husband is out of town ( which might be good for his sake) but I talked to him on the phone and started crying like a baby......lol! I bet he thinks I am nuts. I am getting banded on the 25th. Just want to get it done and over with already. I am sure you gals know whats thats like. Thanks for letting me rant!!!! Thanks so much for all of your replies. I am on day 3 of 10.......... Its tough. I dont even really think I am so hungry anymore, I just feel kind of barfy! LOL! I'm seriously already so sick of all these drinks, I never want to drink crystal light again. In fact I cant stand the thought of drinking anymore in the next 7 days. The Protein mixed with Water is awful..... I am afraid I wont want to drink it after surgery.................. Yikes! Anyway, I am getting banded on the 25th. Still have to get one final test on friday. ( the one where they look in your stomach with a camera. Well heck....The 4 hour fast for that wont be so tough.....LOL! Thanks for listening to me bitch, at least now I dont feel like I am in this alone. Janette :tired

HI, This is my first post. I have been reading posts on here for about a month. I am scheduled for Lap Band surgery in 8 days. Most other patients I have talked to did NOT have a 10 Day clear liquid fast. It is literally SOOOO gross! I feel like I am going to puke all the time. I have the most discusting tast in my mouth no matter how many times I brush my teeth. Just hoping someone on here has done the same thing. I am only really hungry at night, and let me tell you that chicken broth does nothing to fill you up. I am having my surgery done by Dr. Srikanth in Federal Way ( WA ) Anyone gone thru this and any suggestions on how to not literally rip my hair out of my head. Thanks so much, Janette :)
