  1. My surgeon's diet plan is 2 weeks of full liquids (no creamy Soups though), 2 weeks of puréed foods and 4 weeks of soft foods. Just listen to your body and take it slowly. There's no one "right" way to do this. Your tummy will let you know what it wants and doesn't want!
  2. Or just eat before you go and pack some secret snacks in your cute, dress up purse!
  3. Also, I'm 5'3 1/2" and starting at about 260. Anyone similar?
  4. I'm 43 and I have 3 small children. I have a great husband but I'm still concerned about being "out of it" after surgery. I've chosen not to tell many people until after surgery so I'm worried about being able to take care of my kids that 1st week. Anyone in the same boat? : /
  5. I'm so glad you posted this! One oft biggest fears is that I'll be starving all the time and have to fight with myself not to eat.
  6. He removed my gallbladder 3 years ago and I trust him AND like him! He really seems to care about his patients.
  7. I thought that getting my surgery date (10/15) were calm me down at bit, but no dice! I'm more eager than EVER to get on withy new life!!! The wait is killer and surgery is ALL I think about!!
  8. Hi!!! {waving} I'm approved and on the schedule for October 15th!!!! YAY me!
  9. Dr. Brent Allain on October 15th!!!!
  10. I should get one today!! Crossing my fingers for the 9th....
  11. The wait was 1 day short of 3 weeks! I'm hoping for October 9!
  12. No, still no word. Still "pending" when I call... I'm so frustrated!!
  13. Last Friday marked 2 weeks since submission. I did everything right and I'm incredibly frustrated and down in the dumps bc it's not looking good. I just don't get it...
  14. Well, today is the first day that I haven't called Aetna about my pre-approval but it's only bc I have a HORRIBLE toothache and I just didn't feel like hearing bad news again.
  15. I've chosen not to tell my patents or in-laws bc I know they won't be supportive. It's sad, but true. It took me three years to reach this decision and its about saving my own life and living a long time to mother my three, small children. My husband is nervous, but very supportive, and my best girlfriends are my biggest cheerleaders so I'm VERY lucky to have a great team. But even if I didn't, I made this decision by myself, about myself and would do it anyway. I hope you will have some peace of mind and that you're family will come around and support you! I bet they're reacting negatively out of fear and worry. Try to educate them as best you can. Good luck to you!!
  16. Love this thread..,Halloween is a huge deal for us! My family of 5 dresses in theme every year and I always have to start with mine bc it's impossible to find a cute one. We've been pirates, Wizard of Oz (guess who I was?!?!) and cowboys & indians. And I'm always sweaty. This year my "tent" is a vampire costume. I've wanted us to be superheroes for years and next year we can bc I'll actually be able to find a costume!!!
  17. I've read and read and read! I'm just READY now. Hmph!!
  18. And it's contagious. You don't have to spend much time with us before you'll start saying it, too!
