  1. 22 1/2 pounds down since surgery!
  2. I take a compliment as just that and say Thanks!! It's really not appropriate to say, "your ass is fine!!" at work, so I think they're just saying what they can. And you're beautiful, btw And I bet your ass is, too!!
  3. Between ketosis and the protein shakes, I feel like each of my teeth has a very fuzzy, green sock on it!
  4. My appointment is at 3:15p tomorrow...wish me luck! :/
  5. How cool is that?! Go you!! During our Thanksgiving trip, I had to bend over to get something off of the floorboard of the car and did so without issue. No cutting off of breathing or circulation, and no grunting!! lol
  6. I'm tempted to just eat them anyway bc I can't find any reason not to anywhere!!
  7. I order the variety pack and the caramel crunch protein bars by Bariwise and they're the best I've found. Some protein bars taste SO BAD, so try them before buying a box! lol
  8. This is how I explained it to my (slim) husband: it's as if someone is an alcoholic and you tell them, "I know you're addicted to alcohol, but you're going to have to drink it every day for the rest of your life, only it's up to you to make sure that you drink only a reasonable amount and that you keep yourself from overdoing it."
  9. You'll find that some people think it's a definite time period, bit it's not. It varies per person.
  10. I'm 6 weeks post-op tomorrow and I'm struggling with the same feelings. Some days I'm actually ANGRY that I can't eat a big, comforting meal when I feel like it! I know that's ridiculous and I'm so grateful that I was able to have this surgery, but the mental struggle is rough for me right now, too.
  11. Just put lemon and cucumber slices in the water? Hmmmm...
  12. Nobody could've explained to me just how hard it is to break up with food. I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and while I'm not hungry, I MISS food and eating. Food was my friend and never let me down. It made me happy when I was sad or mad, and made me happier when I was happy. I really miss it as pathetic as that sounds. I have an addiction and I know there are some foods that I just can never have again, and it's so hard. Some days I feel like, "I can do this; I'm strong and awesome!", and some days are, "I regret having done this and I want a big, comforting meal." This sleeve business sure ain't for sissies, but at the end of the day, I'm glad I did it and I'm committed to my decision.
  13. I don't know and it's really a bummer! I'm going to ask my Nut tomorrow. I'd LOVE some shrimp, plus I live in S. Louisiana and we eat A LOT of seafood. lol
  14. Lots of lemon and some Parmesan cheese makes any fish better!
  15. My doc is pretty reasonable, too, but no nuts for 6 months! I don't really care for them anyway, so no big loss, but I can't have shellfish for 6 months and I'm dying over that.
  16. Black Beans with a bit of shredded, low fat cheese or low fat sour cream=yummy! I have a 7yo daughter and my boys turn 5 on Thursday. Nice to know they make it to 7...HA!
  17. I'm having a Protein shake for Breakfast, a Protein Bar as a mid-morning snack, usually black Beans or tuna for lunch, a babybel or laughing cow cheese for a mid-afternoon snack, and usually turkey or chicken with beans for dinner and another protein shake at bed time. Sound right?
  18. It's different for everyone. Some start slowing down around 6 months and others it's not until 18 months!
  19. Hey Y'all! I go back to the doc on Tuesday and I'll find out how much I've lost so far. For some reason, I'm VERY nervous. I know I've lost inches bc my clothes are definitely baggier, and I can now fit into some of my clothes a size down. But I'm worried that I will not show it on the scale. I realize that makes little sense, but it has me stressed. I need the validation of having pounds gone and I'm worried that I won't get it. At 4 weeks out, I had only lost 13lbs and I was disappointed in that. I don't care what anyone says, it's IMPOSSIBLE not to compare yourself to others! Seeing others losing so much more than me really frustrates and pisses me off bc I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do!
  20. I got no guidelines for calories or fat, just water (fluids) and protein goals, and foods to avoid (fatty, sugary or fried). I feel a little lost, too!
