  1. Hi, my name is Veronica and I had my lapband done January 2008. I initially lost 50 pounds the first seven months and got pregnant, had a beautiful baby girl in June 2009, and got pregnant again and had a boy in September 2010. During both pregnancies I gained, lost and eventually kept a total of 34 lbs and have NOT been able to lose them since. I currently weigh 284 at 5'8", which still leaves me in the (gasp) morbidly obese category which I'm dying to get out of. While I feel very discouraged at this point, I feel hopeful that I will lose the weight again and more motivated than ever to continue losing as I was doing so successfully before having my babies. Did anyone else go through this and if so, what did you do to shock your body to start losing again? Seriously, at this point I'm willing to try anything because I hate feeling like a Lap Band failure story and really, really want to lose weight so that I can be more energetic and be able to run around with my kids and just feel better all around. I really appreciate any helpful, encouraging tips.
  2. Hi, Judych Have you checked into the possibility that you might perhaps be pregnant? I had the same problem suddenly appear (was too tight, couldn't hold anything down) after I had lost 50 lbs and my doctor discovered I was pregnant.

Are you still taking new members? I live in Irving and would love to join your group! I'm a stay at home mom so my schedule is very flexible.
  4. Thank you so much for your inspiring post. It is exactly what I desperately needed to hear today. I just posted a new thread on how discouraged I feel, yet how I am very motivated to continue successfully on my own journey. I only told my extremely close friends and family about my lapband (and I'm SO GLAD I DID THAT!) because I too did not want the naysayers to discourage me nor judge me. Thank goodness I have such a good support system. Ever since my weight loss stopped about two years ago after I had my second back-to-back baby I have to admit I have been feeling like a failure and of course, it makes me even more discouraged now that I don't see the scale budge even though it's been three weeks since I've started doing heavy duty exercising and really watching what I eat even more closely. You stated you got very small fills and that it took a good year to actually feel some restriction. Can you please describe what "good restriction" should feel like? Should I be feeling "full" after a few spoonfuls or does that mean I'm too tight? Does good restriction mean that you can only drink a few ounces of liquids at a time? Any tips from a successful person such as yourself are desperately needed and deeply appreciated.
