New Here...learning About The Lap Band Process

I am going to be getting my band 8/6 so I don't have the first hand experience to share, so I'm only going by my research and my surgeon! The band is the least invasive of the two, yes you will lose the weight much faster with bypass but you have to think about how healthy that really. Please do lots and lots of reading, get as much info as you can. I'd be happy to share my experience with you. -
With each doctor being so different its hard to ever gage how long it will take for anyone! Good luck to both you and your dad!

I have not been banded yet, however I have seen on other post that some people take biotin to help with hair. Good luck to you!

I want to try and work up to running, not sure how that will go! I have an 8 and soon to be 10yr olds. They have never said anything about my weight and I'm sure they never would but I don't want to embarrass them when they have school functions. -

I tried to have as much done before my appointment, I knew they needed two years of medical records so I had those printed and took them with me. I hope it goes quick for you. My consult was on 5/16 and my surgery is 8/6. Its so different for everyone, stay positive I honestly think it will be well worth the time waiting! -

***not be embarrassed to be 'the fat mom' when I go to school functions for my kids ***be able to buy cute clothes with no 'X's in the size ***enjoy going on bike rides with my kids ***feel sexy on the back of our Harley And the one above all else is be a good roll model for my children!! -

I will not be banded till August so I'm not getting rid of things yet however I do have a pile of clothes I can not wait to get back into!! I am so tired of wearing the same few shirts and pants! Congrats to you all!!! -

One thing that worries me is sagging skin.....I heard that maybe wearing something like spans may help this problem, anyone try this or have any tips for sagging skin??

I am scheduled for August 6th. I am going July 9th for my nutrition class, then I start the preop July 22nd. This seems like a lifetime away!! Hopefully your next apt will go great and your surgery date will not have to change! -

Its official, I get my band on August 6th. I could have gotten it sooner but I didn't want to take the chance of being sore on vacation so I put it off a few weeks. I feel better just having a date!
