  2. I am with trrue results in Houston. What city are you in?
  3. I have Anthem BCBS and a BMI of 40. I only had to have a psych evaluate, blood work, pulmonary function test and EKG.
  4. DeAna/NWgirl - What is yoru cost to fill the lapband. i have anthem BCBS as well. Im just curious.
  5. You should be able to contact you insurance directly and ask them to send you a list of doctors.
  6. The decision is yours but after doing research i feel that you will drop the weight quickly but you stop may expand back to its normal size if you dont eat the way you should. With the band it makes it very hard to eat bad foor. You run the risk of throwing up. Do a little searching online. Read some of the sleeve forums. It helped me make my decision.
  7. Awesome!!! Sounds like you will be a June bandster!
  8. Im not very familiar with the full diet required, but I would imagine Beans would be allowed in small portions. What about a bean salad? http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/06/southwestern-black-bean-salad.html
  9. My Psych appointment went nothing liked I expected. She talked to me about her sister, which i thought was odd, then told me everything the doctor had already told me about the procedure and then asked me to complete a 285 questionaire. She didnt speak to me after that, i paid and left. I would have though that quwstionare what somewhat important. She never onced asked about my past or medical issues.
  10. That is awesome seems our surgery will be clsoe to each other. Mine is tent. set for June 27 or 29. I have met all my requirements just waiting to see if they will accept my EGD that is 1 and a half years old, they require one with the year. Hopefully they submit any day now!
  11. I am just waiting on my pysch eval to come back then they submit for approval. Right now my tentative date is June 27 or 29. Im so excited! I am so impatient and hate waiting. I hope everyones surgery goes well! Please feel free to let me know what to expect.
  12. WONDERFUL! Glad something went your way. Which insurance do you have that approved you so quickly?
  13. Yes, I am very lucky. I would be going crazy waiting for 6 months. My insurance just switched this years, im somewhat glad i waited a year to have this done. It seems the process is much easier than it would have been.
  14. Thanks everyone for the feedback! I will be sure to update. Hope to submit for approval by the end of next week, if my blood work comes back normal.
  15. Daisychains - How long from your inital consulation to the actual surgury day? It seems like everyone's case is differnt.
  16. I do not liked cooked veggies at all but a coworker recently told me a way to cook them and i ended up somewhat liking it. If you cut up broccoli, squash, zucchini, and asparagas into small pieces, cover with a small amount of olive oil and bake them until they are crunchy almost a little bit of black on them. I think the bunrt taste covers the veggie taste which i like.
  17. Thats good news. I don't want to get my hopes up but my birthday is in August and I would love to have the surgury before then. Im going through True Results and they seem to streamline everything. Have you already had your procedure? How has it worked for you?
  18. I had my inital appointment yesterday, They gave me the out of pocket expenses for the insurance and completed my blood work, EKG and pulmonary test. I have my psych eval tomorrow morning. Once the results come back on the blood work and psych eval they are going to submit for approval. I have BCSC Anthem and have been told they are typically very quick at responding (1-2 weeks). Has anyone else had this insurance? How long does it typically take from start to finish? Thankfully my insurance doesn't have a long list of requirements and my BMI is at 41.5. Please let me know about your experience.
  19. I think all the testing they are having you go through is to make sure you will make it through the surgery. Getting your health in order first is a good thing. We wouldnt want anything bad to happen. Dont give up, just take it day by day and have the testing done. Before you know if you will be banded and healthier than ever. I think these issues will actually help your insurance cover the procedure.
  20. Congrats! I just started the process and I am already being impatient. I am just going to have to try and keep myself occupied.
  21. I was given a 20 page packet with questions to complete prior to my appointment. I go Wednesday morning, they managed to get me in, in 2 days. I will let you know how it goes. If I were you I would go with Dr. Creepy, I think it will be worth it in the end.
  22. Today was my initial consultation. I had my in EKG, Pulmonary test and blood drawn. My appointment for the psych eval is Wednesday and then they submit. Thankfully I have BCBS Anthem and they don’t have a long life of requirements. I have been going back and forth for over a year now and im glad I finally made the decision to have Lap Band. My birthday is in August, so I would love to have this done in June so I can have some weight loss by then. Wish me luck
