  2. I had my EGD this morning and on the way home I got the call that insurance approved my surgery!!! Everything is final and can finally be excited.
  3. You will be fine! I am also waiting for surgery and I think the benefits will outweigh the detriments. Good luck tomorrow!
  4. How were your incisions closed? My doctor uses glue and told me we can swim, bathe, whatever after 5 days.
  5. Maybe try subing a meal or two with a protein shake... it really has helped me drop weight quick. I lost 4 lbs in 5 days.
  6. Good thing it is only a week. Mine is two weeks but I started 2 weeks early with 1 shake a day and have progressed to my required 2 shakes a day. I think it helped since I had a few slip ups in the beginning but it has slowly started getting easier now.
  7. I havent received that call... but they already scheduled my surgery for June 27. I am drinking a shake for breakfast and lunch an no carb, high protein dinner.
  8. I asked the doctor during preop and they recommended vitamin e oil.
  9. I'm June 27! Had my preop appointment today and started my liquid diet two weeks early. It was tough the first couple days, I find the weekend the most challenging.
  10. Maybe seeing a nutritionist would help get a better understanding of the foods you should eat.
  11. hmd, I sure hope that is the case! I am one of those people who is extremely impatient. I feel like that is all I think about at work.... when is my claim going to be approved? What is they deny me?

  13. My pre-op appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Could anyone tell me what to expect? Is this a one-on-one with the Doc or a group appointment? What is discussed?
  14. I can't eeally give you much advice for post-op since I am still pre-op, but I started my liver diet two weeks early. I have been drinking two protein shakes a day and a lean cuisine for dinner. I think this has helped me prepare for what is to come. I have managed to lose 4 lbs in 3 day.s I am going to try and stick it out until my first fill.
  15. My doctor put me on two protien shakes a day and small meal for dinner. I.E. Grilled Chicken or Fish and veggies
  16. The week before I started my 2 week "liver shrinking" diet I started replacing lunch with a protein shake. I feel that it has really helped me prepare for going to full liquids next week.
  17. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and was going to my GI for quite some time. They ended up sending me to an ENT and turned out somehome the chronic reflux caused my tonsils to be infected and they were triple the size. They were removed last year. It was a weird feeling like there was a lump in my throat that I couldnt clear.
  18. I'm pretty sure I will have my hernia resided during my procedure, how will this help me? Does it just help with reflux?
  19. This time I didn't cook.... I went to Kelly's. They make an awesome chicken friend chicken.
  20. Chicken Friend Chicked, Mashed Taters, corn and a roll! I couldnt eat it all but what I did eat it was delicious!

  22. Thanks for the feedback. I am certainly going to ask, hopefully there up front about everything.
  23. I have BCBS Anthem and have been told that they are out of network. They told me that True Reaults have an agreement with the insurance company and since the sugery is going to be in an outpatient facility it wouldn't be very expensive. They quoted me 1350, has anyone been told this before and did you receive bills after the fact?
