    Sea Salt Scrub

Has anyone heard of this being a great scrub to use after being sleeved? My mom was telling me she saw something about it being very helpful for the skin and helping it stay moisturized and helping weight loss patients retain elasticity in their skin so it wasn't as loose when you loose the weight.

I Am 12 Hours Post Op

Congrats on your surgery! And I agree ... walk, walk, walk, it will get that gas pain moving!
  3. Did you have steri-strips? Those caused an allergic reaction for me and I had itchy red bumps that made me nuts!! Doc had me put Neosporin on the incisions though and that seems to have helped.

    Surgery Tomorrow

Good luck and if you have Facebook, come join our super secret June sleevers FB page!
  5. Another vote for Premier at Costco. I have the vanilla and they aren't bad as far as protein shakes go.

    How Soon?

Oh how I wish I could go jump in the pool - it's been in the 90's here in Georgia. Alas, my doctor told me at least 6 weeks. Darn it.
  7. I think it's important to keep in mind that not all sleeves were created equal, in that they will not all be the same size on every single person. Having said that, I had the same thing happening to me during my liquid stage post-op and I was beginning to wonder if I had done something to my sleeve. Enter, the mushy stage .... and I'm full. Keep in mind, where some people may get 1 oz. in, you may get 2 oz. in. My example, someone posted above they can only get a few bites of a scrambled egg in, but I can do 2 oz. of scrambled eggs and 1/4 cup of corned beef hash for breakfast and I am 12 days post-op. Do what feels right for you - don't worry, you are on the right track.

    Soup Question!

I haven't found any FF soups but I did find 98% FF which is what my NUT recommended (have to strain those of course). I was told to avoid the tomato (acidic) and anything with broccoli in it (we don't need any more gas!)
  9. Big day tomorrow - we'll have to make plenty of room on the loser's bench. Good luck!!!

    Recovery Question

I was told I couldn't fly after surgery for 30 days, so that may pose a problem for you if that's the case with your doctor too.
  11. I think it's because it was a lot easier to drink 64 oz. of water pre-op than post-op. It was easy to just down a glass of water and now all we can do is take baby sips and keep doing that all day.

    I Will Get Through This?!

Have you tried taking and tracking your measurements? I wouldn't be surprised if you're still losing inches.

    Craving Salty On Preop Liquid

I did frozen green beans with some sea salt or some broth.

An Hour Between Fluid And Meals?

I was told not to drink 15 minutes before and can't drink until 30 minutes after.

    Preparing At Home

Your tastes can change after surgery, so that's one thing you have to be careful of. I did get a fair bit of broth and Crystal Light though - that seemed to stay the same for me.
  17. You found a great place to be Olivia - this forum is a crazy wealth of information and there are some amazing, supportive people here. I learned so much here and it helped me prepare for my sleeve date.

    No Overnight Stay?

I'm not familiar with your doctor, but that seems a bit odd. Personally, I'd feel a lot better with an overnight stay in a hospital.

    Sea Salt Scrub

Oh yeah, good call I didn't think about that ... rubbing salt in the wound = BAD idea.

    Pre-Op

I didn't go near Smoothie King, too many calories and it wasn't on my doctor's plan. I was allowed 2 protein shakes a day, plus SF Jello, SF pudding, SF applesauce, Gatorade, broth and yogurt.

    Tell Me It Gets Better

It does eventually. You will be on liquids probably another week or two after surgery, but it probably won't bother you as much because you're not going to be as hungry. I was thrilled when I got to the mushy stage - it was nice to chew again. Good luck, you can do it!
