  3. I'm nine weeks out and I still put a little too much on my plate even though people who are eating with me think I'm hardly eating. I eat until I'm just staring to felled a little full. If I then wait a few minutes, my tummy registers as completely full. This usually ends up being about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I'm right there with you. My top ten include hair loss, wishing I could sample a bite or two of pasta without feeling so stuffed and sick and tired of explaining to people that I can't eat regular portions.
  5. I don't let the negativity get to me. I just enjoy reading many of the post knowing we are all in this together and many of us are going through the same thing.
  6. I agree with the majority. You still have swelling and won't have much of an appetite. I focused on fluids and was able to get Protein in with Syntrax Protein powder. I'm 8 weeks out an still eat small portions. I sometimes wonder how patients with gastric bypasses are able to stretch their pouches out and gain the weight back. I'm utterly miserable if I eat more than 1/2 cup of food. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Everything in moderation and we all are different. I can eat a few spoonfuls of potatoes and feel ok. I cannot tolerate even a few bites of Pasta or I feel sick. I have a cold treat in the form of Bryers low carb ice cream bars a few times a week and my nutritionist is ok with it. I still get my Protein in and yet will enjoy a small piece of cheese pizza with my family when we go out. I don't feel guilt and neither should any of us. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. Goofycathy I'm with you. I rarely get enough fluids in. I can't imagine trying to cram more calories in.
  9. I have had the same issues with lower calories. When I take in 500-700 I don't lose weight. When I have eaten 900-1000 and get enough liquids in, I lose. I lost 10 pre-op and 23 post-op. I'm 7 weeks out. I've had quite a few stalls. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. TLP I have often wondered the same thing. The surgeons differ so much. I have eaten bread (1/2 piece). I've even had a small piece if cheese pizza. I believe in everything in moderation an as long as I get a minimum of 65 grams of protein in. I think people react differently to bread and beef. I tolerate them but I have to get up an moving after I eat them because they sit heavy in my sleeve. I say eat slow, try things slowly and see what works for you.
  11. You are all so inspiring! I have almost zero energy and find it hard to get off the couch once I get home from work. I'm not a morning person and sleep 7-8 hours a night. My job is stressful so when I get home at night, I just want to veg. I know I need to exercise and maybe this will help my energy levels. I've been taking my vitamins and will be getting labs soon. Perhaps I am deficient on something?
  12. I am 6 weeks out and I still have problems with nausea and vomiting sometimes. Even though I eat slow, I never know if I'm going to get the nausea, then foamies and pain in my esophagus and then throw up. Tonight I had a few bites I the chopped chicken from Garbanzo's and I had to stop eating because I got nauseous. Other ones I have no problem eating. I have been eating regular food since week four. I went out to eat with my family and had 3 bites of a cheese omelette and 1/2 piece of toast. I just wish food didn't cause me so much anxiety over eating. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Ok after reading some of these responses I am just appalled. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  14. I have the grocery and food dilemma as well. I was sleeved in 6/25. I can eat pretty much anything g as long as I eat very slow and chew very well. This morning I had a scrambled egg with a little cheese. I was full until lunch I have these moments where I miss eating and enjoying a beautiful dish. My family went to IHOP the other day. I ordered a cheese omelette off the kid's menu. I had three bites of it and half a piece of toast. My son ate the rest of my meal. When I go to the grocery store I look at the gourmet deli section and I feel sad sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. Tamara you are still on liquids? Your surgeon sounds pretty conservative. You rocking wright loss though. I've lost 28. Sent from my iPhone using VST
