  3. Goofycathy I'm with you. I rarely get enough fluids in. I can't imagine trying to cram more calories in.
  4. I have had the same issues with lower calories. When I take in 500-700 I don't lose weight. When I have eaten 900-1000 and get enough liquids in, I lose. I lost 10 pre-op and 23 post-op. I'm 7 weeks out. I've had quite a few stalls. Sent from my iPhone using VST

What I Ate On Vacation (Sleeved July 2Nd)

TLP I have often wondered the same thing. The surgeons differ so much. I have eaten bread (1/2 piece). I've even had a small piece if cheese pizza. I believe in everything in moderation an as long as I get a minimum of 65 grams of protein in. I think people react differently to bread and beef. I tolerate them but I have to get up an moving after I eat them because they sit heavy in my sleeve. I say eat slow, try things slowly and see what works for you.
  6. You are all so inspiring! I have almost zero energy and find it hard to get off the couch once I get home from work. I'm not a morning person and sleep 7-8 hours a night. My job is stressful so when I get home at night, I just want to veg. I know I need to exercise and maybe this will help my energy levels. I've been taking my vitamins and will be getting labs soon. Perhaps I am deficient on something?

What I Ate On Vacation (Sleeved July 2Nd)

I am 6 weeks out and I still have problems with nausea and vomiting sometimes. Even though I eat slow, I never know if I'm going to get the nausea, then foamies and pain in my esophagus and then throw up. Tonight I had a few bites I the chopped chicken from Garbanzo's and I had to stop eating because I got nauseous. Other ones I have no problem eating. I have been eating regular food since week four. I went out to eat with my family and had 3 bites of a cheese omelette and 1/2 piece of toast. I just wish food didn't cause me so much anxiety over eating. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

I am floored by everyone's weight loss!
  11. I have the grocery and food dilemma as well. I was sleeved in 6/25. I can eat pretty much anything g as long as I eat very slow and chew very well. This morning I had a scrambled egg with a little cheese. I was full until lunch I have these moments where I miss eating and enjoying a beautiful dish. My family went to IHOP the other day. I ordered a cheese omelette off the kid's menu. I had three bites of it and half a piece of toast. My son ate the rest of my meal. When I go to the grocery store I look at the gourmet deli section and I feel sad sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

I was sleeved 6/25, down 10 from pre-op, 20 since surgery. I've been eating soft cooked meats since last week and soft vegetables, toast. I still use protein shakes to get my protein in since I can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup for a meal.

    For The Slow Losers

HalfTheWoman: I was sleeved on the same day you were. I lost 10lbs on pre-op liquids. I have lost 17 post op. I lose one or two lbs then stall. It's driving me crazy. I'm trying to get 64 oz of Water and usually meet my Protein needs of 55-75 grams. I just started exercising by walking an hour a day. I would be happy with 15 lbs down each month but it looks like I will do about 5-8 l s each month at the rate I'm going. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  16. I didn't use a straw until week 5. I found it was easier for me to sip through a straw and not gulp big drinks of Water. It has really helped me get my fluids in. Sent from my iPhone using VST

First It Was Sex Now Its Food...

Nope butterbean, the worst sex for me was NOT better than the worst food I ever ate. At least the worst meal was over quickly. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  21. Ok all you successful post surgical sleevers. I am interested in hearing about what seems to be most successful: Low carb higher fat diet with exercise or low fat diets which seems to have higher carbs. I also wonder if the higher fat, high protein, low carb helps with hair loss. Let the comments and education begin

    First Time Eating Soft Food

Yes, you just have to take really small bites, smush it in your mouth and swallow slowly. You may not realize you are taking too big of bites for your new tummy or eating too fast. Same thing happened to me. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  23. Yep, my sleeve talked a lot in the first week or two. I felt week because I was still on clears. I added Protein broth and started feeling better. As soon as you can safely up you calories and protein via Protein shakes, you should feel better. I also had mild pain around my incisions the first week, they disappeared. 24. Thank yOu everyone for all of your comments. I'm roughly 5 weeks out and have been eating higher protein low carb such as meat cheese and some veggies. No more than 1/2 cup, usually about a 1/4 cup. I like the idea of 40 30 30 and will stick to that.
