Yah before I had revision I had that good restriction. Allowing satiety and triggers of fullness. Now after revision doesn't happen.

Was banded 10/07. First 3 yrs were amazing. Lost 105lbs. Felt great. Confidence was great. Now 3yrs after that with a revision of the band surgery on my belt I've gained 70lbs back. I can eat anything portions are out of control. I know it's a tool but if I could diet /exercise I would've done it without surgery. I don't know what to do. Going in for yet another fill dec 2nd. Any ideas?? I feel defeated.

I've went from size 5 to 12 :-( I had a good restriction but had a day that it was really tight freaked out and had the fill removed just what was put in not complete unfill. So now got full 2 weeks ago. I can tell its there but no real restriction yet. So gonna call today and go BACK in again. Geez never ending battle.

Greetings all. I feel your pain but honestly my success has been totally on me and working with my band to figure out what works and what doesn't work. I was Banded January 10th of 2008 by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali whom I now consider one of the best people I have ever met. He totally changed my life that day, little did I know that then. To date I have lost 169 pounds. Has it been easy, NO WAY! Has it been a struggle, OH YA.... Every time I throw up I cussed the blessed thing, but then realize how much good has done me. It's not the Bands fault I throw up, it's mine. I have given up a lot of food this past 5 years that I always enjoyed, but my life change has given me more. Salads, hardly, Red meat, Hardly, Bread---NO WAY, fish goes down like it never did, and I never did eat fish but have come to actually enjoy it... Work with it, come to realize YOU ARE DIFFERENT in that you can’t eat everything everyone else eats. Many of my friends have come to wait and see what I now order and eat and most the time follow suit. You have the tool, stick to your guns and get the job done. At 62 years young now, I just finished my 6th marathon in the past 10 months... Talk about a life change....

Embrace this time. U were just banded. The stomach gets "angry" when messing with it. So right now u have natural restriction. When I was banded (10/17/2007) I didn't get my first fill till 3months after surgery as I had natural restriction. It doesn't happen like that for everyone. Just drink what u can. Take chewable Multivitamins. Don't get frustrated. You will get through it. Take care.

Excited for all of u. It's a big step to a new life. I'm an October bander but was banded in 2007. Good luck to all of u.

It's tough but here are some tips;
1) dont work out alone- go to a gym. Being around other people working out will motivate you
2) Dont go on machines that bore you! I happen to hate the treadmill- which is why I go on the elliptical and the arc machine + I do tons of strength training
3) If all machines are tough for you/bore you then only do 10 mins at a time and then take a break and do another machine (IE- 10 mins elliptical, 10 mins of the arc machine, 10 mins of treadmill. Before u know it you will have done 30 mins of cardio)

I am, also, one that had a revision after a slip. I agree that restriction is different this time around. It is not something that I can't explain. I am at the total that my surgeon will fill for me. He said otherwise I will be too tight, I am only at 5 cc. It seems that everything I do now has to be me and my new way of eating. Boo to that!!! best wishes, no advice just a hug, (((())))!!!Karen

I get my fills done by fluoroscopy everytime now so I know it's ok. Since I had a slip one time.
